It's tilted 90 degrees on its axis, even though it's on a level downward flight without any visible maneuvering in the last leg. They are probably studying further flight envelopes. What's peculiar about it?

BOZDOĞAN (WVRAAM) & GÖKDOĞAN (BVRAAM)
Bozdoğan clearly missed its target, but nice to see more tests nonetheless.
It would be a kill if it was a real target and warhead, but no kinetic impact we can see.Bozdoğan clearly missed its target, but nice to see more tests nonetheless.
Most Sam and air - air missiles blpw up when they are closse to target and are not hit to kill missiles .Bozdoğan clearly missed its target, but nice to see more tests nonetheless.
I wonder how much would it cost to use a bare minimum Kızılelma for that?I am still looking forward to them being tested against an old f4 or an old F5.
I'm pretty sure that's a standart twin engine Banshee. Number of Şimşek used tests I've sen are still very far in between. We really must be one of QinetiQ's biggest customers.Wing span of our Simsek target plane is around 1.6metres
It's probably possible to calculate the radar cross section of this target with some uncertainty, if such data isn't available in open sources. It should be minimal. I wonder at what maximum range the F-16's radar can detect it, and at what range it can shoot it down.View attachment 77800
Wing span of our Simsek target plane is around 1.6metres. Looking at this picture and measuring it pro-rata with an engineer’s protractor ; the nose portion can not be more than 15cm wide. Its fuselage width is probably under 25cm.
An F16 fuselage at it’s widest, is over 3.1 metres, and where pilot sits it must be well over 1.6m .

This missile, if it were aiming for the centre of the nose, it came within few centimetres of a 20-25cm wide target. It would have definitely made a hit to kill with an F16.

But as per @boredaf has said it is nice to see they are testing these and improving them. Any points that need correcting will be taken in to consideration and the missile will mature to become as deadly as it was intended to be.

These target drones carry "hot nose" to simulate all kinds of heat signatures and can also be equipped luneburg lenses to increase RCS and with radar augmenters to simulate radar homing missiles. It's probably possible to calculate the radar cross section of this target with some uncertainty, if such data isn't available in open sources. You are correct. Although it says “Tübitak Hedef Uçak” on the wings of the target plane, a little investigation proved that Tubitak uses Banshee target planes for these tests.I'm pretty sure that's a standart twin engine Banshee. It's pretty much the equivalent of Switchblade 300, both are made to be used against soft targets, basically delivering a grenade or 60 mm mortar round to enemy with precision from a long range.STM Alpagu finally entered Turkish Army Inventory after 5 years of development time. Hopefully Alpagut follows shortly after. On a sidenote I die inside little more each time I see a new indigenous drone with a fragmentation warhead. Alpagu apparently has a 270 gr fragmentation warhead which severely limits it's potential targets imo.
Well yes for original switchblade 300 but switchblade 300 block 20 has a 1.9 kg warhead which is the total weight of the Alpagu also has both fragmentation and Explosively Formed Penetrator warhead options that can be used against armored targets. Alpagu is a good start but something closer to switchblade 300 block 20 rather than the original would be game changerIt's pretty much the equivalent of Switchblade 300, both are made to be used against soft targets, basically delivering a grenade or 60 mm mortar round to enemy with precision from a long range.
