What's peculiar about it?

It's tilted 90 degrees on its axis, even though it's on a level downward flight without any visible maneuvering in the last leg. They are probably studying further flight envelopes.

“In the firing test, where challenging maneuvers to evade defense and radar systems and very low-altitude flight capabilities were demonstrated, #SOMJ proved itself”

this explains it I guess

Wing span of our Simsek target plane is around 1.6metres. Looking at this picture and measuring it pro-rata with an engineer’s protractor ; the nose portion can not be more than 15cm wide. Its fuselage width is probably under 25cm.

An F16 fuselage at it’s widest, is over 3.1 metres, and where pilot sits it must be well over 1.6m .

This missile, if it were aiming for the centre of the nose, it came within few centimetres of a 20-25cm wide target. It would have definitely made a hit to kill with an F16.

But as per @boredaf has said it is nice to see they are testing these and improving them. Any points that need correcting will be taken in to consideration and the missile will mature to become as deadly as it was intended to be.

I am still looking forward to them being tested against an old f4 or an old F5.
