I preferred the existing design - it was simple and easy on the eye. yet modern
and timeless.

This A-shaped symbol is hard to make out, a simpler logo with ‘aselsan’ as the main element would have been better.
Yes, I agree.
The existing logo was simple, no bs design. A la SIEMENS.
This is now done for marketing purposes.
Needs to be eye-catching for the ME customers.

Seems like we’ll be hearing about more deals might have been signed with Belgium.

Many agreements were signed in the field of defense with the Belgian delegation visiting Turkey.

It was announced that Turkey is collaborating on ship engines produced by the Belgian ABC company.

The company produces propulsion systems and the most powerful of these, a V16 diesel and hybrid fuel engine producing 14,130 horsepower.

Türk Telekom and Aselsan Announce Strategic Cooperation

Türk Telekom CEO Ebubekir Şahin stated that developing innovative domestic and national products is among their fundamental priorities in the digital transformation process, and that the production of domestic and national communication devices is a "red line" in this field.

According to a statement from the company, Türk Telekom signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Aselsan, which stands out with its engineering capabilities in the defense industry and advanced technology fields.

Within the scope of the cooperation, the parties will work together to develop the hardware and software of domestic smartphones, user devices, and domestic communication equipment. The statement noted that this cooperation aims to maximize the share of domestic and national production in communication technologies.

The meeting, attended by Türk Telekom CEO Ebubekir Şahin, Aselsan CEO Ahmet Akyol, Ankara Chamber of Commerce President Gürsel Baran, and Turkic World Business Council President Aydın Erkoç, determined the roadmap for the domestic and national communication device project and took the first concrete steps.

"We are a technology company that designs the future of Türkiye."

In the statement, Şahin emphasized that in the new era, they are acting with an understanding that not only consumes technology but also produces and exports it.

Şahin stated that they see innovative domestic and national products and projects as a national responsibility within the scope of digital transformation, and said, "In this sense, the production of domestic and national communication devices that will increase our country's competitiveness in the global technology field is our red line."

Expressing that they have signed an important collaboration, Şahin said, "Thanks to this strong partnership, the roadmap of our domestic and national device project has been determined and the first concrete steps have been taken for its implementation. Our efforts to reduce Türkiye's dependence on foreign technology and shape its technology-based future will continue uninterrupted."

If they make a JV for it I hope they don't name it something that's as unlikeable and unmarketable like Bogg.

I would love to buy an ASELSAN smartphone.

#Aselsan and #TürkTelekom are developing a 6G-compatible #Securephone.

The agreement between Türk Telekom and ASELSAN targets both the civilian consumer market (B2C) and the public sector (B2B). However, since the project only officially launched on May 18, 2026, exact specifications (such as processor type, RAM size, or camera megapixels) have not yet been released to the public.

The current status regarding sales and technical specifications is as follows:

* Broad market launch via Türk Telekom: As Türk Telekom is the driving force behind commercial distribution, the new smartphones will be available to regular consumers. Distribution is planned via Türk Telekom's online channels and physical stores.

* Financing options: As is common with other brands, the device is expected to be offered to end users in Turkey with convenient installment plans linked to the monthly mobile phone bill.

* Initial phase for the public sector: Although end users will be able to purchase the devices, the first production wave is expected to be delivered to ministries, military personnel, police, and operators of critical infrastructure, as the need for secure devices is most urgent there.

## Known core technical components & standards
Although exact model names are still pending, the technical guidelines of the ASELSAN specifications are already defined:

* Connectivity: Full support for 5G and an integrated hardware architecture that can be upgraded directly to the upcoming 6G standard via software updates.

* Processor & AI: Integration of a dedicated NPU (Neural Processing Unit) to perform advanced on-device AI applications (such as offline translations or hardware-encrypted voice assistants) without relying on external cloud queries.

* Security Chip (Secure Element): A physically isolated crypto chip on the motherboard, developed by ASELSAN, stores passwords, biometric data, and encryption keys separately from the main processor to block hardware spyware.

* Operating System & Software: A modified and hardened Android base (or a completely custom user interface) that is free of Google or third-party trackers that typically send data to servers abroad.

* Network Compatibility: The devices are technologically optimized for the Open RAN networks of Türk Telekom subsidiaries Netsia and Argela, ensuring improved reception and battery life on the Turkish mobile network.

Once the partners reveal the first prototype specifications, we will know more about the display and cameras.

Although details of the project have not yet been confirmed, some rumors are circulating in this way.

That is brilliant.

I have had my Samsung phone for only 2-3 years now but I am already considering an Aselsan phone. If the hardware is competitive and the price is acceptable even the pride factor alone is enough for me to switch. My Samsung model is listed among the devices that come with wiretapping built in. So I want to say goodbye to the foreign stuff altogether like last year. They should make models that can be used like computers connected to a big screen and I will say goodbye to PC too.

I will not argue who had fault about these issues, but at the end of the day we couldnt hold on to the followings as a nation:

- Vecihi Hürkuş: Vecihi K14 and many more
- Nuri Demirağ: Nu. D 36 and Nu.D 38 planes
- THK, Etimesgut Aircraft Production facilities: THK 5 (export success, to Denmark), THK 16
- Tulomsaş: Devrim Automobile (1961, 6 years before foundation of Hyundai)
- Koc Otosan: Anadol (It was actually made of Fiberglass. There are a lot of people who still believe to the slander that donkeys and cows eat the bonnet because it was made of straw!)
- Aselsan: 1919 and 1920 Mobile phones

The list can be expanded of course.

None of them were perfect products. But each of them could have been the foundation of a something great with support as years passed by. And we have been paying those mistakes dearly. Billions of dollars are going to abroad, for limiting imports (and other reasons of course), we are paying heavy taxes specifically for phones and cars, because we cannot produce.

That is why TOGG is very important. The success of this phone enterprise is also vital. Noone could ask to ordinary people to get inferior phone for the same price with hard earned money, just sake of support. That is because I hope this phone's price, specifications and cameras are able to compete with other companies' equivalent products of price ranges.

I also hope that those who constantly disparage and belittle everything produced in our country, even if they do not offer their support, just remain silent rather than influencing public perception negatively, just one time...

"We don't have any OLED or LCD manufacturers," they say. And I say, if Türkiye can produce military-grade AMOLED screens, it can also produce a civilian version if it wants to.
