    Korea Gas-Turbine and Jet-Propulsion programs

Unfortunately, there are no links to those programs since the Koreans aren't really publicly promoting their programs unlike TEI (Hanwha Aerospace website barely promotes their own gas turbine programs). Those information are collection of data from research papers/thesis of the government...

    Korea Gas-Turbine and Jet-Propulsion programs

Like I've said, the TF6000 and the Korean 6000 Ibf turbofan are extremely similar in terms of composition. Though a cooperation is a whole different story in terms of hurdles to overcome. Apart from aforementioned developments, Hanwha is also part of various civil gas turbine programs, the most...

    Korea Gas-Turbine and Jet-Propulsion programs

To clarify, S1 was tested since a few years ago, at Doosan's testing facility in Changwon. This year's installation is an actual installation to the grid. Obviously, there are clear differences in operating conditions and requirements between an aero engine and an industrial engine (the...

    Korea Gas-Turbine and Jet-Propulsion programs

Korean gas turbine developments are more focused on industry gas turbines. More to that later. Talking about aero gas turbine developments are comparable to that of Türkiye. Research started in the 80s in conjunction with cruise missile turbojets. Akin to how Peace Onyx and F110 license...

TR Turkiye's F-35 Project and Discussions

Yeah, I've said Growler purchase plans were scrapped in favor of EF EK. You said that you "don't think it was scrapped", so I gave you the recent developments from this month. What's the matter?

TR Turkiye's F-35 Project and Discussions

Yes, it is scrapped ever since the Germans reconsidered buying the Super Hornets in favor of the F-35s. Now they want to make the most out of project Quadriga and the purchase of F-35s. Also, tell that to Luftwaffe, not me. What they are replacing are those Tornado ECRs which could definitely be...

    TR TF-X KAAN Fighter Jet

Yes, this is the "preliminary research models from the mid-2010s drawn in cooperation with SAAB" that I mentioned above. But wow, I'm surprised that nothing came out from the T-X/F-X to the public, considering that the components of the program wouldn't even be confidential by now. It makes...

TR Turkiye's F-35 Project and Discussions

He is wrong. Plans to buy Growlers are scrapped. Like you've said, they are working on a Eurofighter-based EA variant called the EK (Elektronischer Kampf). Then again, that plan is being considered to be scrapped in favor of more F-35s, since the F-35 is also a very potent SEAD aircraft.

TR Turkiye's F-35 Project and Discussions

(Copied from the other thread where I answer this cute little fella.) I know which blog it is the article is mentioning. Said blog is ran by a team which also publishes a Korean military magazine called Defense Review. It's an unreliable media with lots of wrong claims in their articles. This...

I know which blog it is the article is mentioning. Said blog is ran by a team which also publishes a Korean military magazine called Defense Review. It's an unreliable media with lots of wrong claims in their articles. This particular article was met with a lot of criticism for the sheer amount...

If you mean relaxed stability by "unstable", then yes, MIUS is the first aircraft from Turkey with such design, at least from what I know.

MIUS is still a lighter plane than the F-16, although one should consider there are no pilot related equipments on MIUS. We don't exactly know the size of the radome, but probably smaller than the F-16 as well. I know MIUS will use MURAD but it probably is a scaled version. Overall F-16 will...

    TR TF-X KAAN Fighter Jet

To be honest with you, the title of the video is plain dumb, considering the history of the JSF. ASTOVL was a joint US-UK program to replace Harrier and such history is reflect in a way that the UK is the only tier 1 partner in JSF + is a country directly involved with F-35B propulsion design...

    TR TF-X KAAN Fighter Jet

So, which feature could warrant a fighter jet "6th gen" nameplate? A generational difference indicates a difference that fundamentally cannot be achieved by previous generations. Well, unless you significantly alter the origonal design, which at that point I'll rather call it a different plane...

    TR TF-X KAAN Fighter Jet

Yes, it is a sales pitch. "4th gen" was born as a marketting buzzword, and so was "5th gen". It's just that, sometimes these sales pitch represent the real world quite well and serves as a great tool to understand the differences of varying equipments from various periods in a simplified, easy...

    TR TF-X KAAN Fighter Jet

The spees indeed is incredibly fast, but it isn't something that cannot be understood if we see it from the point of extensive digital engineering and simulation. Obviously, like you've said there could be delays to come since, as I've mentioned before, unexpected annomalies could only be found...

India Defence Fair Aero India 2023

Hopefully we'll get more details regarding IAF programs... Especially curious about plans regarding TEDBF and HLFT-42. Also, is there a chance the details regarding the bid for private partner for AMCA program to be revealed during Aero India week?
