Yeah, as long as it doesn't threaten US geopolitical interests. And seeing as our interests align for the foreseeable future, I don't see why we shouldn't take advantage of it. Most people are more concerned over things that MIGHT happen after China ceases being a threat instead of China being...

Why get a Tranche 4 Typhoon when you can get double the amount for the same price if you go for the F16V? The Tranche 4 is pretty much on par with the Block 70/72 This is what France does, they CLAIM it's 0% DP so as to underbid their competitors, but after winning the contract they start...

No but the Air Force also operates the millennium gun as point defense guns as well. It would make a lot more sense to have something like the Skyranger 35 and mate it onto an existing platform that Pindad can already produce itself. Much like Gepard or the Type 009 SPAAG.

Literally zero chance for Typhoon at this point.

I feel like they could just save a lot more money by putting a Rheinmetall Skyranger on a Kaplan MT or Pandur II chassis. https://www.janes.com/defence-news/news-detail/rheinmetall-unveils-skyranger-30-air-defence-system...

The answer is simply because black is just cheaper to procure in bulk than OD green/Ranger green. Why stop at just the Indians? Considering a divisions worth of US Army soldiers were training here for 2 weeks, they should also send officers to train at Ft. Drum, NY (Home of the US Army's 10th...

You guys do realize that the $20,7 foreign credit cap set by SMI has pretty much stopped any Rafale deal from seriously happening before 2024 right? French equipment is notoriously expensive, French contractors tend to underbid their competitors just to secure the deal and only then balloon up...

AMRAAM and Sidewinders are a definite. The ROKAF isn't going to waste all their surplus stocks just like that.

At this point it sounds like you just want a second Army akin to the SS.

It competes in capability, it's not all just about size. The Israeli Sa'ar 6 for example outguns anything we have in our inventory at only 90 meters.

It would likely be a variant of the Sigma 11515 HN offered to Greece. Again, Damen isn't stupid; They're going to have to offer something substantial if they want to have a repeat order of their Sigmas. To be fair though, going with Damen could lead to a quicker production turnaround than the...

It's likely a Sigma with Aster and an updated electronics package. I HIGHLY doubt Damen would be stupid enough to offer another Sigma with Smart-S. To be fair, it wouldn't be THAT bad of a choice.

Which is ironic since historically and doctrinally having a ton of cheap lightweight fighters spread out throughout the country doing routine patrols would enhance coverage and sortie time

Honestly better to just license build the FA-50 as a low cost replacement for the Hawks and build some experience in jet manufacturing rather than stick with the KFX program.

We do have a lot of Hellfires in stock, if you can pay Lockheed enough it would help having a common pool of laser guided missiles.

"Both systems can be used for force protection and vital asset protection, with the Skyranger 30 focused on the unmanned aerial system threat and the Skyranger 35 being able to counter a wider air threat set that includes rockets, artillery, and mortars." Case in point is what you want when in...

To be fair tho, fitting something like the Oerlikon 30 onto a dedicated amphibious Anoa platform would actually be a lot cheaper than getting something like the K30 Biho.
