Yes. They also look like they have a lot of meat on them. The one's where I live are the same species but I've heard that those that enter the bay don't pack a lot of meat. However, every year fisherman go crazy for them at the piers at the edges of the bay. So there must be some juicy ones.

Have you ever been crabbing? Every year in winter millions of giant spider crabs enter Port Phillip Bay. I've caught a lot of sand crabs and red shore crabs, but I really want to catch some spider crabs.

These religious/philosophical discussions are fun. Remember that this thread is for everything. But I definitely think an English-only thread for religion and philosophy is needed.

Australia First MQ-4C Triton on its way to Australia

The ADF is set to receive its first MQ-4C Triton maritime surveillance UAV. Costing $180 million each, they are part of a $5 billion deal which includes lifetime maintenance. The addition of the Triton will mean that the ADF's P-8 Posidens will be able to focus on their primary purpose...

Poll One year anniversary of the Ukraine-Russia war. What will be the long term consequences of this conflict?

I agree that China has surpassed Russia. They are clearly trying to leverage their massive industry and economy to create an air force that can hold a candle to the USAF. But at the same time a huge chunk of the PLAAFs aircraft are either Russian or based on Russian platforms. The J-20 is a...

Poll One year anniversary of the Ukraine-Russia war. What will be the long term consequences of this conflict?

It has proven how important air superiority is and how Russia failed to make the switch to good E/O and precision guided bombs. After Azerbaijan knocked out Armenia's air defences in Karabakh, it was all over for Armenia. Whereas in Ukraine, Russia rushed in quick and suffered a lot of losses...

Casual Discussion War Thunder, a national security concern?

I think it has been blown out of proportion... The leaked data was far from top secret. I find it funny that these people leaked this information so that their nation's tanks are depicted more accurately in the game.

I think he's referring to the TFX mock-up which as you know is nothing like the prototype under construction. Not the Hürjet. Edit: unless you're talking about a TFX mock-up that somehow has been kept secret

Key points: Spy balloons can linger over a site for much longer Spy sattelites have many threats against them. Not only kinetic threats that can destroy them, but chemical, directed energy, microwave and even optical countermeasures, the latter being widely employed. The US Space Force has...

Nice to see that we're experimenting with inverted bows. Hopefully it leads to a "yerli Zumwalt", minus the issues which led to the cancellation of the program. Maybe something similar to KDDX. But highly unlikely, I don't think DzKK wants anything outside of the MILGEM project for the...

Apparently it chased dolphins and ended up beaching itself which led to its death. Sounds like Orca behaviour, I don't think a Sperm whale would chase dolphins. But everything else points to it being a sperm whale. Maybe it was a rogue sperm whale which was driven to madness because it was...

Interesting. I never really thought great whites would venture into the Bosporus. Now that I think about it, it's a shame that there aren't whale sightings in the Bosporus. Though apparently there was a whale that would frequently harass ships near Istanbul around 1500 years ago...
