Odense doesn't have a shipyard anymore, they would have had to find a shipyard to build the ships for them.

Spare part production, we already produce certain parts for our current F-16 fleet. Buying more US jets would just increase spare part production, which IMO is worth more than local assembly since it would be worth A LOT more in the long run.

Add the fact that the F-15EX share common parts, weapons, and engines as the F-16; You'd see the $36,500 drop even lower.

The only funny thing about this comment is the idea that we would still be able to operate the Flanker if we went with the Rafale and NOT the F-15, even though we have more common parts and weapons with the F-15 instead of the Rafale lol.

I wouldn't say that the article is pro-Boeing, if anything it just re-highlights longstanding issues that this country has had in regards to the aviation industry.

It's a subcontractor scheme. There's no actual mention of Tunisia planning on ordering F-35's.

A CAATSA sanction for this would be towards a country. Not an individual.

It's not going to be the Flanker, the recent CAATSA sanctions against Turkey is a testament to that fact.

Deterrence to who? Our immediate neighbors have far superior BVR capability and the PLAAF operates the same aircraft along with copies that are arguably much more advanced than the Su-30s we currently operate.

I can confirm that we DO have them. We however, don't have Hellfire Lima that uses the Longbow radar. Hence why they're not installed on the Apaches.
