EJ200 is 157inches long. Which means 398cm. The Motor Sich engine with afterburners of similar thrust level is the one they use in Hong-Du L15 jet. That is 314cm in length. There is a 78 cm length difference. There must be room to accommodate this extra length in the fuselage of KE. But then...

TEI has been closely working with GE on Blisk fan technology for years. The F110GE129EFE engine AKA F110GE132 is an engine that TEI is responsible for maintaining and servicing as well as producing parts for it. So it is only logical that the Blisk (Bladed Disc) technology is adapted for our...

A millimeter wave radar is essentially an Extremely High-Frequency synthetic aperture radar (which is typically used to ‘map’ a picture of the ground). Millimetric wave radars for helicopters, such as the AH-64D Longbow, are used for target tracking and engagement, especially for moving vehicles...

F4 Terminator 2020 planes that the TuAF has in it’s inventory were supposed to be retired nearly two years ago. There are only about 20 of them that are flying anyway In 111 squadron. Unless they spend a lot of money to upgrade them, there is not much chance of f4s carrying anything. Besides...

Just to add to above info; There are two ramjet projects at the moment being developed. First one is Tubitak-Sage ramjet for Gökhan a2a missile. This missile is going to have a liquid fuelled ramjet engine. But most likely that the liquid fuel will be a Gel-Based fuel. Thus enabling easy...

Bro, most important info is missing from this infographic you have shared. First plane is KE but the second one is Gripen-E It is a comparison of the two To tell you the truth I don’t understand the significance of the comparison at all. Gripen-E s a manned 4++ generation full fledged fighter...

Engine cuts off well before missile starts it’s dive. That is why it is also assumed to have a 90 degree dive as most missiles are much harder to intercept if attack angle is accute. Especially as the air drag start having an effect after 15000m, missile is almost at a perpendicular compared to...

Correct. Ballistic but still suppressed. In fact quasi ballistic missiles still have a somewhat a ballistic trajectory. To leave fuel for terminal stage it needs to apply a very short range. Not really economical. But at hypersonic terminal speed would almost guarantee a hit. (If only it would...

Correct. Pointed nose of all supersonic jets and missiles are the proof of that. But in spite of that, the general shapes in that list are still valid for using in calculations.

This calculation is totally wrong. We know that Bora and it’s derivatives are quasi ballistic missiles. Yes, in order to travel around 660 km in total and achieve an average speed of 4.3 Mach, this missile flies well in to hypersonic speeds in most of it’s trajectory. But towards the end of it’s...

Your explanation would make sense if it weren’t for the vehicle launch canisters that look square shaped. That canister ; If each were 120cm wide it would mean 240cm overall plus at least another 20 cm gap between them. Then there is all that clearance at the sides. A standard lorry (40 foot...

Just check out the weight and the size. That doesn’t correspond with any Bora missile we know. Bora is a 2500 kg missile. Not 3600kg. Unless it is the canister size and weight. Still it doesn’t make sense. A canister that is 120 x 140 cm doesn’t fit! Any ideas?

but If you take the red lined ballistic missile trajectory with an apogee of 300 km , total distance travelled will be 1161 km . That would give you about 7.5mach average speed. So, although he is misguided in his assumption, it is feasible within his thought process.

Depends what you want to use them for. At a lower flight trajectory than a ballistic missile, a quasi ballistic missile can maintain higher speed - even hypersonic - , thus allowing it’s target less time to react to the attack. But this is done at the cost of reduced range. Hence they are...

There is one thing we have all overlooked. Tayfun flew for 458 seconds and hit the surface 561km away. But it actually went up ~50km and down ~50 km as well. That is if the top altitude was 50 km. That means it flew 561km + ~100km = 661km in 458 seconds. That makes average speed as 4.3 Mach...
