True. Real AMCA development hasn’t been sanctioned by GoI yet. But initial feed money for testing has been allocated by DRDO from its internal funds. One A-319 plane will be used to test AMCA radar and other avionics. AMCA funds are expected to be sanctioned this year.

It’s too expensive and probably uses more foreign parts and weapons than Indian Tejas Mk1A and 2.

I guess this also means BMD Phase 1 has been implemented to a large extent with Delhi, Mumbai protected now. With AD2 testing beginning , double layered protection can be provided to all the metros plus important cities.
