Well there are variants that can be launched from a 40mm and has a range of 1000m, so I think it could definite be handy, imo using them as point defence of camps and such are another aspect that makes it attractive. Unless smart munitions and 30-35mm are picked for that purpose.
There could be a delay strategy in the game. S70 and now that we’re developing our own helicopters they’re playing another card to delay domestic purchase. Thr longer you delay purchasing domestic platforms the more people get tired and knowhow becomes harder to hold on to.

Deliveries will continue in 2023. Imo I think these are necessary, if portable, plug and play version of manpads becomes possible I wouldn’t rule out that the vehicles could be fitted with them. It’d make them more versatile while on the move.

I’m not an engineer, but those numbers sound pretty good. Tbh KF-21 for 65 mio. usd or even 80 due to inflation would still be a very good price considering the tech level.

Perhaps the 2nd generation will be with unmanned turret, but I imagine that 100+ will be with manned turrets to give us time to work on unmanned turrets.

KF-21 is f'ing beautiful. I don't get why people are bothering with what generation it belongs to. if KF-21 is better than Gripen or F16 VII then it's fucking good enough for the purpose it was made.
I'm curious on whether SK will have a wingman type drone or if KF-21 is going to be as is...
Perhaps the reason for testing an older tried engine is due to the reliability. I would probably prefer the first 250 Altay to have same engine even if it means an older one as long as it's reliable. The next 250 could be based on a newer tech.
