My take on Canadian volunteer et al. support.

I unfortunately do not see any easy way out for Putin. He has commited and staked too much....and left no room for withdrawal by proclaiming "de nazification" etc as the intent. Consider the lives and material lost on both sides too now (esp ukraine civilian side)...what would a withdrawal...

I can vouch for the 500 number being approximately correct from Canada. I know some of the guys personally involved in making plans to confront Russia (back in 2014 itself) in all manner of ways.... so 500 is just the start now... you will get the true number much later after either this war...

Its a thermal sight, not really a "night sight"....but otherwise this was a good look into the system helping Ukraine a whole bunch right now.

Push comes to shove, we are all human beings in the end...we have to help each other out wherever possible past the tough times of any (esp. political) relationship. Such things (regular people solidarity on the ground) help the cause for a better friendlier future.

There is deeper somewhat related layer that I am seeing worldwide (India has its own unique variant). That is....psychologically maybe about as low as 10% being radical enough can change (over enough time + intensity) the control and larger opinion and tolerance/norms of the whole society...
