There are several ways of making that power mix. Parallel hybrid, serial hybrid and more. If you can run both the engine and the motor at the same time you can add the powers of both engines to make 2x170hp for max power. I am working on such a system for a private project. Anyone who want to...

Lets say the engine is PD170 and the plane requires full power of 170hp = 127 kW for take off. If you can climb to the altitude in say 5 minutes you need a battery with a capacity of 127*5/60 = 10.6 kW/h. Benchmarking with a Tesla battery of pack level density of 200 Wh/kg you need 10.6/0.2 =...

For once they got creative and innovative. Bets are open to guess which engine it is based on. I bet on PD170-PD180.

Rotax even make engines for go-carts. I come across to people who started their own small engines companies after working for companies like TEI before. I even came across to a person who is building a coaxial one seat helicopter. And the dude started making the thing from the engine. He has to...

This PG-50 can be a good sell to paramotorists and other civilian sport flyers but our TEI is not interested in making small money. I have a project that I can use one of them for and if the project sells it can be a hot cake seller for sport flyers.

Yes but even in a war with a capable power if you can take out the air defenses first you can clear the way for UAVs. They will be a good supplement to the manned systems.

There are rumors that Pakistan will buy several dozen Turkish UAVs, which is why I keep mentioning UAVs for Pakistan.

Not just yet. But if I win a lottery or something there can be. I have ideas.

UAVs have changed war recently and Pakistan seems to have been watching closely. I am not sure for what missions they want the helicopters axactly other than the fact that they want to use them at the highlands. UAVS maybe a viable option for their missions partially or wholly.

Have they said they won't wait or what? They should go the unmanned route and employ UAVs to release their urgency for helis which is what they are doing apparently looking at recent moves from them.

We should give a discount to Pakistan for them to take ATAKs with uncertified TEI1400 engines to be upgraded to a certified engine at no cost when certification is complete. For an early batch of like 5 pieces. 4 years is a long time. They will probably try to squeeze time to two years. Still...

I am thinking the way they do. Several years back Baykar chief had already asserted that the F35 is the last of the unmanned fighters when TFX was well underway. So there is already a big bet on unmanned fighters.

High capability unmanned systems mitigate the risk of ending up with no domestic subsystems in the short to medium term. Both with TFX and MBT. It adds a good deal of waiting capability. Sooner or later we will make it. We only need back ups to close gap until we make it. UAVs are made for it.

Better be late than be with foreign components. We have the UAVs existing and coming to cover a lot of bases so some delay in TFX and tank developments is tolerable. We are also not paying for off the shelf whole systems anymore so the money saved there will be pretty much enough for...

The engine seems to be the hardest part to make but in a discussion made a few years back about the plane Japan is making somebody brought up that the Japs will have the hardest time pulling off the sensor fusion. Any ideas how we can cope in that department?

I often see videos of mods made on foreign army rifles. I wonder if Turkish soldiers can make mods on their rifles or do they have to go with factory configuration issued pieces. It may also be possible to configure a whole rifle from different sources, technically speaking.

Not sure but I believe soldiers are issued the right caliber for their mission. It is not that the 556 is not in stock. Turkish army operations are generally in the open field where range is more valuable than ammo count.

They should upgrade the rifles that are already in use in the army not just the new batches.

Refining of the butstock made the rifle more handsome. The more slender the looks the better. I hope some upgrade to the pieces in the field can be made to make soldiers happier.
