Before developing a VLS capable Atmaca, it may be a wiser decision to perfect the submarine launched version to replace the Sub-harpoons we have on U209 submarines and also ready these missiles for the Reis Class to use.
Since a decision was taken earlier, to integrate Atmaca missiles to all...

Syrian, Iranian and Russian armour have been gathering in Northern Syria. US are definitely against the operation by the Turkish side. Although they won’t interfere directly, indirectly we...
Actually the beauty of this technology is that you are doing away with a lot of moving parts that a turbine engine consist of. In a CRDE what you have is an annular detonating chamber and fuel inlets. Normally There are no compressors no turbine blades that need to be made out of single crystals...
As I tried to explain above, the development of gas turbine engine technology is reaching it’s limits. Gas turbine engines can only operate in atmosphere. They are not very fuel efficient. At high altitudes you need turbojets, at lower altitudes you need turbofans.
A CRDE (Continuously Rotating...
I understand your point about them being death traps etc. But any armoured vehicle that has no APS and ERA fitted, will be a “death trap” in the battlefield against modern ATGMs.
However, when these vehicles undergo modernisation process, they become more agile with longer ranges and develop...
Not very likely to happen;
1. Turkey is playing the “neutral” country card. Therefore shouldn’t supply arms to either side.
2. M113 vehicles are being upgraded with hybrid power packs. If first 50 are successful, it could be useful to us.
3. Each one of these vehicles is around a million...
There is still a long way to go with this engine. We have only managed to run it for 10seconds. It needs to operate flawlessly before we can say we have “developed“ it. Nevertheless, what Tubitak has achieved is exemplary. Great step towards developing this engine.
As conventional air breathing...

Two nuclear powers will never do. NATO is a nuclear power.
They will use proxies.
When it is Non nuclear countries they are attacking , then yes they will.
Exactly! There is hardly any significant benefit over Aksungur to have Akinci with piston engines. This is a drone specifically designed to operate at high altitudes with powerful turboprop engines carrying over 1300kg of payload. (That is why Selcuk Bayraktar was looking for 1000hp engines for...
The last point in your post is a bit confusing. We have been waiting all this time for Ozgur modernisation because the Aselsan Aesa radar was not ready. Now it is suggested that the Murad radar is going through integration process and tests , means that the radar is almost ready to be...
Well I took these pictures from the video. There are a number of different angled shots. Having watched it again there isn’t a shot that corresponds to a near horizontal firing.
So these may be different shots hitting the target that do not correspond with actual firing angles.
How do you come...
I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. My mistake for not explaining it clearly. Got too carried away.
Only the 35 units of Block 30 planes have better airframes. This is not part of Ozgur project. We are not upgrading the airframe of the other blocks. These 35 planes , although the...
OK thanks !
1. Lifespan upgrade is not part of the Ozgur. They were for Block 30 only. Ozgur is for all aircrafts.
2. New avionics and cockpit system are definitely part of Ozgur.
3. The new helmet too is part of Ozgur. Although CCIP upgrade gave some form of Helmet cueing capability, Aselsan...
On paper and with respect to current missile technology you are correct.
But the proposed radar system of Siper will be far ahead of the S400 radar system. It is also a system that is open to upgrades. Siper geometry is open to evolving. There will be versions of it with more range. Same system...
I concur too.
1. With GaN based Aesa modules that are around 5-8 times more powerful than GaAs modules used in V70 radars, our radar should be far ahead of the An-Apg83 radar that is on the F16-V70 planes. (As the nose area of the planes are the same, similar number of modules will be fitted to...
The picture you have and the below firing angles don’t match. I haven’t measured. But one looks like 60-70 degrees another around 40 degrees. You do not fire at these elevations to hit a target at 3km. Also these are projectiles. Hence would follow a trajectory that would be more accute.
Those are VERY accurate shots. What is the range? Do we know?
Also I wonder if some form of correction kit were used?
