Remember the MIDLAS model from idef 23, quadpacked Hisar D Block 2 looked very tight fit already, and Siper Block 1 was there as well, Siper Block 2 might just be too big.
Military procurement and planning is a difficult process. Moreso for us. We can't only think if a platform looks good we buy a 100 right now. We have to consider maintainability and availability, current capabilities and how it will hold up in future in 10 years, how will it be modernized etc...
There is obviously significant military involvement by our side but I think this could be Russian-Greek propaganda to cause unrest by distorting facts.
You need the total package with a bit of everything properly, but adding any significant capability you didn't have before could briefly feel like a wunderwaffe moment.
The f16s being transferred to ukraine are block 20 MLU, apparently when F35 got delayed they decided to do a modernization...
They do still need trained personnel and even if they get all 4 corvettes they will need a safe port and couple submarines and additional vessels to support these in proper operation. So probably these ships are going to be more relevant once the war is over for keeping the peace. Does Ukraine...
I mean yes, we are not doomed, so if we can't get x we'll get what we can and desperate times call for desperate measures mentality is understandable. Whether it will work or not, we shall see, but if Iran can manage we should be able to. It is a sad sentence to be writing however.
I expect KE, in addition to all the stuff our current UAV do with higher payloads / longer ranged munitions, to perform A2A missions as an extension of other air defence systems against most 4th gen and somewhat less modern aircraft, like Migs and Sukhoi etc. It would be additional capability...
Yes and fate of pardus makes me skeptical. That's specifically why I stated I'd wish for a common project with EU or some other international partnership. But even migrating to an existinf Linux distro would work.
Meaningful for cost savings and possibly transitioning towards more well maintained software from outdated in house solutions. But a decree and 9 months, could cause a disaster. Also important to evaluate which software should be chosen and have local companies etc contribute to development of...
It's such a disaster. They don't allow thei navy to decommision ships they don't want and can't use. It's just political stuff to make sure companies get paid despite delivering sub par products. I can't see anyone else wanting them, it is estimated to take billions of dollars to make LCS ships...
It is kinda annoying that Ada class based designs we sell end up being better equipped than ours. Hoping for ADA class improvements sooner rather than later.
Replacing each F16 with twin engine much more expensive KAAN will be difficult for sure, I imagine total number of KAAN + F16 would stay around 250-300, but retiring of most F16s can go beyond 2045.
