This new claims it was from 30 miles. Relatively short distance but still not too bad for a first test. It also says that Kızılelma tracked and performed the simulated fire while performing a formation flight with one f-16. So we could assume they tested iff in some capacity too.

TR F-16 Özgür | Hürkuş - Fighter Trainer Aircraft Projects

It seems that Ozgür 2 is indeed not stalled and even ahead of expectations. According to Ahmet Akyol's statement Murad AESA radar has succesfully conducted air to air test fire on F-16(no date given). https://gdh.digital/haber/aselsanin-9-aylik-cirosu-909-milyar-lira-oldu-884isz9s8lg

The video was released today with title "middle attitude system qualification test". It can clearly be seen with afternurner on at certain points but no official max speed was given. Imo they would have mentioned it in the video if it actually hit 0.9 or 1 mach. So maybe they did a high speed...

The livery used on delivered Gökbey's does them such a disservice when they can look this good with a proper paint job

We don't need MBTs, IFVs, manned jets, modern APCs. What do we need exactly? Million TB-3s? We can't say times have changed we don't need that to every platform while not doing anything to adopt to changing times. MBTs times are over because fpv drones with AP warheads, so are we producing any...

I am still in favour of buying 20 f-16v's if US are willing to give them without much trouble. Even if it is to only get familiar with what Greece will be using and learn from it for özgür 2. But it seems unlikely at the moment

This is also checks out with what SavunmaSanayist claimed to be "most accurate" info

One fighter being worse than another in a 1vs1 doesn't mean it will be completely useless against it. Ideally we would have F-35's but it doesn't look possible at the moment so next best thing is to neutralize F-35 advantage as much as we can. We can't go on the offensive in the air against F-35...

Another Tayfun test fire took place. Not much information is given but it is at least good thing that test is conducted by Land Forces and not by Roketsan

Well yes for original switchblade 300 but switchblade 300 block 20 has a 1.9 kg warhead which is the total weight of the Alpagu also has both fragmentation and Explosively Formed Penetrator warhead options that can be used against armored targets. Alpagu is a good start but something closer to...

STM Alpagu finally entered Turkish Army Inventory after 5 years of development time. Hopefully Alpagut follows shortly after. On a sidenote I die inside little more each time I see a new indigenous drone with a fragmentation warhead. Alpagu apparently has a 270 gr fragmentation warhead which...

I don't see any reason why wouldn't the majority of both IRST and Radar processing be onboard just like a manned fighter jet. They would only transmits the things they detect/track which still is hard to do but nothing compared to video feed. Only exception to that would be Radar on SAR mode

I am not against the Qatari deal because we simply don't have the time to wait for the production lane but is buying second hand aircraft that is not even 5 years old really cheaper than buying brand new. I would have guessed that current global climate would make secondhand jets with quick...

Is there a need for seperate prototype to test the ram painting or can it be integrated into one of the already existing ones?

With avionics in testing the one critical component left is RAM paint. I wonder when we will start getting some news about that

Brochure TAI shared couple days ago says Air-to-Ground and Air-to-Air configurations. It will also serve as a loyal wingman to Kaan in MUM-T concept so it should have a radar. And I doubt it will be anyting else than Murad

Apprently Murad-100 AESA radar has been implemented to 6 platforms and they are "very satisifed" with its performance so far. I wonder what could these 6 platofroms be: 1 - F16 Özgür 2 2 - Akıncı 3 - Testbed 4 - Kızılelma(?) 5 - Anka-3(?) 6 - Hürjet(?)

Arda Mevlutoğlu claimed that the big delivery might be from first Siper procurment deal signed in 2018 totalling 566 million at the time since this is the first "serial production" delivery of Siper. If that is the case there is still a lot of standing deals waiting to be delivered

I don't think they will ever publish stealth tests because there isn't much to show and it is one of the more guarded topics. But Ahmet Akyol has said that they are collabarating with Baykar on things like sensors but also on the stealth. I would guess that includes testing against best radars...
