This is great news for our sea platforms.
As you rightfully point out it will also be used as a PDMS with 20 missiles and with an effective range of 15km to replace the RAM missile systems US were so reluctant to supply to us.
Since it is using a missile derived from Bozdogan WVR a2a missile, it...
WS10,WS15 and all their siblings are engines developed from taking Russian AL31 class engines as a model and starting point. Chinese have had help from Safran as well in their quest for jet engine manufacturing. There is a crux where you hit the right note in engineering. Due to the deficiencies...
@TR_123456 and @Sanchez bros,
You are both correct.
The number of these UCAVs sold is a testament to its name. Thanks to the crappy Russian AD systems, it dominated the skies and made mince meat out of the Russian AD systems and Russian armour on the ground.
As the Russians started to plug...
This is totally unbelievable! They had all this time and having lived through live combat scenarios whereby a leo2a was blown apart due to munition explosion in Syria , they still have not taken the time to segregate the munition from personnel.
Even now old school tanks like Challenger2...
Teber82, if not carried in the inside weapon bays, the KE can not be used effectively against say South Cypriot positions. Those Teber82s on the outer pylons will allow the plane to be seen by AD radars and Barak8 missiles will bring it down.
KE is essentially a stealthy UCAV. If it carries...
If enough time and energy is spent on conversion they can be used.
But remember that KAAN’s motor connections to body and F16’s are in totally different positions. You can’t just swap. Also FADEC as you mentioned needs to be programmed to suit a twin engined performance. FADEC (Full Authority...
If this announcement is being made by "TEI" chairman, then TEI is to produce these engines under licence. At least that will give good control over the engine supply.
I wonder if we can do a "Gokbey" on them and use these engines for larger Anka3 drones?
TF10000 is a different engine. It has to withstand the sudden jolt of the afterburner when it kicks in. Materials and parts used have to be different in places where it matters.
Prof Akşit had mentioned all this before.
If you listen to Prof Akşit, you will see that they already have 3 TF6000 prototypes. They are conducting different tests on them. The engine has been engineered to provide 6000lbf thrust. They already have attained 3800lbf thrust from the engine. By testing it and gradually increasing its...
No they are not. The latest f16 engines we have got for our f16s are f110GE129B . It is set up for single engine use.

Good news if at least the engines for the prototypes are here.
f16 engines are for f16s. You can’t use them on any other plane.
F16 uses F110GE129B and set up for single engine use.
Kaan uses F110GE129E and set up for twin engine use. It is the same engine used in F15EX.
Unfortunately no.
EJ200 engine develops 13500lbf dry and 20200 wet thrust.
Even in war thrust settings which can not be sustained for too long, it can only manage 15500lbf dry and 23000lbf wet thrust.
For a smaller TFX, RR had offered to redevelop EJ230 engine further to give 17500lbf dry and...
There s one thing that is most disturbing about the latest meeting between Trump and RTE.
When asked about if F35 planes will be delivered to Turkey and Caatsa sanctions will be lifted, Trump said “First, Mr Erdogan needs to do something for me. Then we will see”
This means that there is a...
Check the date bro! 2017!
Much water has passed under that bridge since then!
As per @Sanchez ’s post, RR had distanced itself from TRMotor.
Also SSB is subject to CAATSA. That makes it a non starter for the engines.

On 14 December, 2020, the United States imposed the sanctions on...
Trump can not sell us anything unless congress approves. Upto 14million dollars of major parts or equipment can be sold without Congress approval. Also up to 50million dollars of minor equipment and services can be bought without approval.
Anything more has to go through Congress. Even though...
Although not officially disclosed, there were reports and rumours that the consortium in charge of developing the TF35000 consisted of RR/Kale.
Originally RR were to manufacture the engine of KAAN together with Kale. This engine was to be produced in Turkey under licence and Turkey would have...
Europeans don’t have an engine in that caliber. (Not including Russian engines here, as being a CAATSA country, Russian engines would be more trouble than they are worth)
Only two companies in Europe that manufacture fighter jet engines:
RR/MTU has EJ200 with 13500lbf dry and 20200lbf wet...

Japan has offered XF9-1 engine to India for their AMCA stealth fighter.
This is a 33000lbf + wet thrust and 24250lbf dry thrust engine using 5th generation single...
That is a very realistic explanation of facts in Turkey made by a non Turk. I must commend you for that.
We are aspiring to build an aircraft carrier, because it is such a high value asset that there is a lot of cream on it that can be skimmed and has a great political propaganda value.
It is...
