It is the media which is just making story, it is normal for Mindef to look around on possible acquisition or just for study for indigenous design. The one that is quite certain is for 2 Iver acquisition and the budget has already been approved.

I think they are just designing at the moment, the component can comes from local or foreign suppliers. I believe they just need to build assembling factory at the start where component will be supplied by other company like Bakrie/Astra autoparts/Wika Manufacture/or Japanese-Indonesian parts...
