Probable infighting between heads of TAI and SSB. Related:

Not with that nozzle, but it should be in the right direction.

looks as if the engine nozzle is standing on a carriage. Bet you can't see the nozzle from below say unlike the Okhotnik prototype. Interesting design choice.

Can't make up the turret on the fourth vehicle. Tamkar launcher seems to be carried inside, so not that.

    TR TFX Name Suggestion Dıscussions

Raptor means a bird of prey. Eurofighter is the name of the consortium and EF-2000 is known as the Typhoon, Rafale means wind in French, other two are SAM systems. Naming a fighter plane after birds or weather phenomena is pretty standard. I'm pretty sure that they will call it the Anatolian...

"A production capacity of up to 100 tanks per year is planned at the Ankara Production Facility. 20-30 of these are considered for the export market. The mass production speed of the New ALTAY AMT, which will start with 4-5 units per month, will increase depending on the learning curve and will...

I was actually thinking about that yesterday. Afaik, in the current Altay production program of 250(251?) tanks, there is a separate branch on training tanks for tank schools included in that number, but i am yet to see someone mention tank based recovery vehicles in that number, less so with...

I really couldn't comment on that. From other unmanned turret prototypes we know that both AbramsX and T-14 weigh significantly less than tanks of their class. M1A2 was 68tons, M1A2 sep v2 comes at above 72 I think. GDLS advertised AbramsX with having a 60ton standard weight, which would make it...

    TR Politics

I like how you arranged these possible outcomes where you put Öcalan's photo next to Atatürk and then added the others because you thought portraits of Öcalan and Atatürk didn't bring the point across enough and needed juuuuust a little more. I'm not trying to stoop to this level of propaganda...

TR Air-Force TF-X KAAN Fighter Jet

Until now, the reason for the early first flight was touted as a learning experience for the engineers to see their design in the air and outside of their computers, so that process would be faster. Kotil also previously iterated the cold war method of building jets. Fast and numerous. He...

K21 is more like a 25 ton vehicle, no? And they solved the buoyancy issue by adding floats to the poor thing. It had some mishaps where some prototypes just sunk, i remember reading about it few years back. It is actually pretty innovative, how they solved the floats but making a design...

Tulpar or Kaplan MT for that matter both weigh more than 30-35 tonnes. They aren't going into the water anytime soon. Tulpar S and Kaplan 10 on the other hand... They were built amphibious capable from ground up.

Knowing what the F-15 is and can do, that'd be the greatest leap forward for HvKK since F-16 was introduced. 104 to 0 baby. If MMU can be a 2030s LO F-15 with all the avionic goodies, that'd be more than what we could want and some more.

Turns out we couldn't actually do that as well, because there were no domestic solutions at the time.

İbrahim Sünnetçi says BMC will enter the new tracked IFV program's 105mm gun section with a different foreign turret than Kaplan and Tulpar. Leonardo maybe?

Do you mean, more important than ever? Tanks are still inherently important for a combined arms army. You literally cannot march on without them. They are the tip of the spear. This is what we're seeing in Ukraine.

The New Altay moniker kinda fits, as the poor thing just got near obsolete in the last 10 years from the last prototype. FCS is new.

2 prototypes will be delivered to KKK for testing on April 23 for some very extensive tests. Tests will continue until end of 2024 and first production Altays will be rolling off the line in 2025. I think this might be the last 18 months stretch boys... Judging by the 5/3 KKK/export production...

T625 is not a platform comparable to Mi-8 tho. Gendarme currently has 30 S70s, will get 30 T70s. It also has about 20 Mi-17s, and about dozen Hueys if they're still active. T625 size and performance wise can only replace the Hueys. 100 T625s more than doubles the size of the gendarme air arm...
