Its being left open, basically saying if you escalate things i will escalate things by turning into a fully functioning air base. Because once you put Turkish fighters in there and you use them directly, it can easily turn into a war between Turkey and whoever is against us in Libya. At the moment its at the level of proxies at least diplomatically.

Once Turkish jets enter, there is no hiding it the way the Russians do.

Maybe 3 years ago in this forum, I said we should start talking with Egypt again because we need them especially for gas talk. Now look after three years, Erdogan accepted it. Turkey has all the gas infrastructure in place. If you want to export gas to europe you run a pipe up past the TRNC into Turkey. But last thing isreal wants is eygption competition. Last thing the Americans, Russians, Europeans want is muslim state co-operating with each other and supporting each other.

From egypts perspective its an easy deal. Turkey is the cheapest and most efficient way to do it. Plus it gives you the advantage that now Turkey has every reason to protect your country from outside interference.

As for Turkey, the east med isnt about Gas, its about not allowing her freedom of movement to be harmed. Its the same reason why Turkey risked war against the world to stop the illegal annexation of Cyprus. No one is confining Turkey just to her land mass. The very same reason why Turkey got involved in Libya.

Turkey is becoming too big and too strong to let snakes get away with murder. A wise man looks to the future, 10 years from Turkey will be even bigger and stronger, 20 years from now Turkey is going to slap everyone down with force. Its best to cut a diplomatic deal now, instead of waiting for Turkey to become strong enough to physically take what's hers.

Turkey a hundred years ago was 10 million and at her weakest after hundreds of years of wars, the world still couldnt conquer the Turks. Today Turkey is nearing 90 million, with a rapidly expanding defence industry.

Its best to wake up before its too late.

Major Yusuf Al-Hamoud, the official spokesman for the Syrian National Army affiliated to the Syrian opposition, told IranWire in a statement: "148 members of the Egyptian army's special forces arrived in Syria on July 26, arriving at Hama military airport in central Syria in three batches from the Egyptian city of Ismailia."

Al-Hamoud added that two batches of 98 members, most of them officers of various ranks, were transferred to the city of Aleppo and deployed in the town of Khan Al-Asal in in the rural area west of Aleppo, which regime forces took control of during their last campaign in February. A spokesman for the National Army said the third batch of 50 members arrived at Hama Military Airport from Cairo Airport on the morning of July 27, and were transferred on the same day to the city of Saraqib, east of Idlib governorate in northern Syria.

Al-Hamoud also said the Egyptian forces were coordinating with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards to train regime forces and help launch fresh military operations. At the same time, Iran-backed militias and Syrian regime forces have stepped up measures against Syrian opposition forces in Idlib and the Aleppo area.

Sheet this is actually very shocking news if its true. If they have really gone so low to assist that dog bashar, and the iranian. I read about that maybe arab states are reconsidering to normalise relations with bashar, but to assist millitarily is actully so shocking. Traitors

You should not attach too much meaning to Morsi. He was as democratic a leader as she could be in the middle east. If he were in turkey, I bet Morsi would be the most radical politician.
