You mean through the 21 century i guess? because turkey had it strongest period through the last 700-800 years with islamic civilization😁
Oghuz Turks converted to islam when islamic civilization had already fallen behind.
Islamic golden age ended pretty much with the Abbasid Caliphate. Central Asia was the last frontier. Seljuk conquest of the region corresponds to Ibn-i Sina's life time. Islam was actually pretty new in Central Asia. Al Khwarezmi for example converted to islam later on, he was initially a Zoroastrian. Once islam settled in Central Asia no more scientists followed and Seljuks came just at that precise moment.

Neither in Seljuk Empire nor in Ottoman Empire there ever was a tangible scientific success.
Especially Ottoman Empire was literally the desert of the World in regards to science.
I mean if you throw away Ottoman Empire from history as if that entire region and its people never existed you wouldnt notice a difference in the history of scientific progress.
Ottoman Civilization is a dead civilization. Today, if Turkey is any better than, if one bit better than rest of those countries with muslim majority it is because of its westernisation history starting with Mahmut II's period and tanzimat reforms.

Ottoman Empire was like the Soviet Russia of Early Modern period. Even at its highlight, it was always an economically poorer country. Its people were always suffering. It was like Soviet Russia, it had immense military and political power but it always sucked at everything else.
Actually Soviet Russia was pretty good at education, sports, art and high industry. I have been unjust to Soviet Russia.

What is cringy is that entire muslim nations from Pakistan to North Africa envy Turks for their advancement but they are also complainant of its westernisation. Now this is very funny because it is that westernisation that led Turkey to be more advanced than them which is why they are envious but they dont see that and want Turkey to be fundamentally islamist like their own countries. If this country is doing one bit better, it is because of this westernisation. If you take away that, it will be like the rest of all 40 muslim majority shitholes that claim to be a country. Now all these refugees/immigrants envy of Turkey are coming(because Erdogan realised Turkish population is too westernised for his mentality) and they will turn Turkey to their own country.

They come and they lecture Turks on what they should do. I want to tell them:
''Dumbass, I am not the one that migrated to your country. I am not the one that is envy of your country. It is you whose country is a miserable shithole that entire world pities on. So has it ever striked to you that maybe it is you who is supposed to take some advices?''

If this is considered a victory by the Egyptian regime, how on earth does an Egyptian defeat look like by this standard? Getting nuked?

Cairo had to take place at the negotiation table after Turkey's decisive victory in Libya. It's that simple. I'm not denying that Turkey was and still is eager to reset the relationship but the diplomatic cards were stacked against the Egyptians.

Don't let the regime propaganda fool you.

You made some valid point. But the ottoman empire had some good achievments in science in the early stages of the history. I dont think no one can deny how strong the ottomans was. I dont agree that turkey is developing now because of «westernisation». From early years since turkey as a country was founded we saw that education was very important, and this was a priority. Many turks have also studied abroad, so turkey as a nation is the most educated muslim country. And btw! To be a muslim does not mean that you limit yourself to religious affairs. Islam covers all aspects of life, and encourage us to have a high aspiration in life. However i seen many turks in this forum who for exampme hate on erdogan just because he has a muslim background, and they mix so much.

I do not have enough information to know what Mr Sisi has done for Egypt. But anything is better than radical religious administration. Secularism is the way for all developing countries. But that only comes with right level of education.
Al Sisi is called as „my favorite dictator“ by Donald Trump. He is depend on Saudi money’s and France‘s weapons. I am ashamed of this guy. But as you said, it’s your „dictator“ and your problem.

Islamic golden age ending with the Abbassids is orientalist and arab centric and persian propaganda.

When it ignores the Ottomans, Safavids, Mughal achievements along with the Mamluks and the Timurids.

Funny how Turks like you dont know their history peddling the bs lie that the Ottomans and Seljuks had no science.

Look up the Seljuks and their intellectual history and how they built education institutions.

Let me guess there was no science in the Ottomans until Mahmud II and Ataturk came I call bs on that.

Kwarzmian Empire ran by Turks made Bukhara a city that rivalled Baghdad.

We all ignore this because of an agenda.

His no different than the Arabs and Persians who love ignoring Muslim Turks achievements.

Look at his bias when even Western universities who are bias against the Turks dont have this notion that the Turks had no science or contributed nothing.

knowledge is so important. And when it comes to muslim history in general it often dont get told correctly and honestly about the history. either they twist or say only a small part of the hole truth. The good part is that the arabs/turks etc have their own historians, and books that have documented well the development. Unfortanely we live in a time where the muslim are in a weak state. They love to call it «westernisation». Without muslim achievment the world would never be where it is today. Everything from the ottoman empire, seljuk, abbasid, ummayad, andalus etc. the oldest existing university was founded in morocco called al qarawiyyin by a religous women called fatima al fihri.

We don’t have problems with Egyptians at all. Just the leader .

You must respect leaders whether you love them or hate them. Should the leader of another country fall because you hate?

Almost the whole world have problems with the Turkish leader. Should he fall? It's called diplomacy, man ;)

this topic is quite complicated and much more than what we think because it's not just EEZ or about the gas issue but even can reach to a strategic war in this part of the world and the winner may not be who get the gas or not .both turkey and egypt made huge mistakes but at the end it's all from what I call it ( house of cards ) .

after the coup in egypt , turkey was the safe house of egypt ex-government supporter and they took istanbul as the base to oppose the current government. Until now I don't see any problem since turkey is democratic country and anyone can it's support the freedom of speech But egypt is totally the opposite . turkey's mistake that it used the eygyption opposition as a political leverage on the current egyptian government . for me this is not a big mistake , I mean every country in the world have an opposition and how each country use this as a pressure card . Just like how the US and EU used Alexei Navalny and how Russia is using Edward Snowden .

But turkey's mistake was not securing greek so why cut all ties on egypt . I know the rivalry between turkey and greek but I honestly think that if turkey reached greek before 2013 it would escalate to what happend in mid 2020 .

On the other hand , egypt at that time took an advantage of this loophole and reached out to greek turkey's number 1 enemy . since the coup greek-egypt relationship was and until now great , military exercises , economic aids and etc . But egypt big mistake that I see it much greater than turkey's mistake was they never expect that turkey would do the same to them but in Libya . The Libya move from Turkey is the smartest thing that happened in turkey's foreign affairs in the last decade.

The war in Libya and how turkey won's its for the legal government made egypt regret provoking turkey by being friends with the greek . at the same time , turkey's hand is tide on the matter of EEZ and egypt agreement with greek and I don't think so turkey can do something about it.

Turkey tried to contact the palestinian government and israel ( the palestine traitor government is totally committed to israel so all it's decision on the EEZ on are water is infact israel decision ) . but until know nothing happen and people see it as a sign of disapproval to have EEZ between israel and turkey and excluding egypt .the main reason that if israel made an agreement with turkey on the EEZ , this will make israel the historic and number 1 enemy to egypt take a drastic majors and start to arm the palestinan resistance in gaza and this is something israel can't not take or tolerate . the last gaza-israel conflict shows how un-guided cheap missile almost crippled israel .

thats all :D
