Thas what happens when you sit at center of world and insinst on being %100 independent nation capable of influencing Europe , Cacasus , Middle East , Africa and Central Asia simultaneously.Every choice comes with its price.
This happens when you waste your financial ressources to useless prestige projects, dump it on third world countries in form of aid, refugees and toys for Gov. officials. When you f*ck up your own economy by interfering in something you don‘t have a clue about.

Being in such a important strategic location actually should boost Türkiye to the wealthiest and most powerful country in the region.

Türkiye is goverened by individuals who don‘t give a damn about the people nor nation they only care about their own pockets. In foreign politics they are fooled around by anyone nobody takes us serious, internal politics weak and soft so passive that terrorists literally are in the parliament, they can‘t even deal with the f*cking keks that refuse to pay water/electricity bills.

After a while it gets old to blame it on others, foreign powers or whatnot.
Not using our talented people is our own fault.
Lets take Iran as an example, everybody hates it,sanctions, economy is shit etc.
Same size of popultaion, not as many changes, opportunities, possibilities or finances as we have yet they manage to win 3 gold 5 silver en two bronz at the Olympics.
We only have 3 silver and 5 bronz.
Its a fucking shame and a disgrace for the 18th economy of the world.
The Netherlands,a tiny country in Europe with a population of only 17 million is at 7th place of the ranking with 15 gold 7 silver and 12 bronz.

Ranking;

The Netherlands 7
Iran 22
Türkiye 64

Utanmaktan baska birsey yapamayiz.

After seeing the Turkish opening ceremony uniforms I knew it was going to be bad as they were dressed like clowns.

Biggest mentality is that we come to accept medicority. Nothing about ambition, having a vision or trying to be at the top.

How is that an answer to his statement?

Talent can be only keep at home as long as your economy equal to Western nations.Modern humans being driven ideology is pure materalism. We are a nation coudlnt industralized at time , dont have natural gas/oil reserves and all major nations want to stop our development. Our economy will never ever be equal to Western nations under such conditions nothing can be done.We can only do our best and survive to next century , hope things will be different.
The change you yearn for won't come with that defeatist mindset.
ps Officially Turkey has the worst Olympics in 4 decades without it even winning a single gold medal... While countries like Uzbekistan, Iran, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania, Georgia etc have won multiple golds and are in the top 20-25 in the rankings, Turkey is 64th. A historic failure.
Lets take Iran as an example, everybody hates it,sanctions, economy is shit etc.

The Olympics are an inherently a Hellenic celebration. Which means it is inherently Turkophobic.
Every single Olympic closing ceremony ends with a rendition of "Imnos is tin Eleftherian" which is the Greek national anthem. An anthem that contains extensive Turkophobic depictions in its extended form.

Coupling that fact with the sights of open discrimination towards not just our own athletes, but towards our brothers and sisters of other Turkish nations in these very recent Olympics, proves that Olympics are inherently a Turkophobic cultural entity.
Any goverment of ours with a backbone should've immediately distance itself with anything Olympic ASAP, but alas, we suffer.

I invite you two to do better than our government. Which is a very easy task.

What a bullcrap of a post from you again,i would really like to know how old you are?
A sports event on world stage, watched by almost every country every day for two weeks where the winners national anthem is played,if you win there you stick it to them because they must show you.
This is also a kind of soft power but hey,why would you understand such a complicated and difficult to understand situation, right ?
Btw,we are nr 1 in one thing,im sure you'll be proud of it.
The country with the most obese people in Europe!

The Olympic bootlicking coming from you two disgusts me.

Olympics began as a festival to honour Greek Pagan Gods then they celebrated it by playing sports to honour their gods like zeus before it got banned by a Christian Roman Emperor called Theodosius until it got revived in the 1900s as a sports event.

I get what you mean as the Olympic torch always begins in Greece. May not be a ancient Greek celebration but the modern olympics does its best to link itself to ancient Greece.

Olympics itself is a disgraceful where is Cirit?

Cirit and Buzkashi is ancient Turkic horsemanship sport. Instead of putting crap like breakdancing they should put Cirit and Horse archery as a sport. Lets be honest most of the people dont even care about half of the sports there you also have football and break dancing.

Who the fck watches olympics football? When you have the Euros, WC, UCL and the Premier league.

Those are in World Nomad games.

An event which I think we should market worldwide as an alternative to demonic and corrupt Olympics.
Now that's soft power for ya!

What pisses me off Caucasus and Central Asian Turks are all active in mixed martial arts.

I dont see any Turkish fighters at all.

I see it as rezilik resmen as our ancestors sports mainly centred on training for war.

Turks from Turkiye are no where to be seen. Has the country really gone that soft or is it because of football?

Türkiye is the behemoth of the Turkic world that we all look up to. I'm both surprised and disappointed by its performance in these Olympics. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Hungary all performed better despite their much smaller economies and population.

We live on old glories to be honest. Naim Suleymanoglu was a chad.

The thing is after him nobody wanted to be a Suleymanoglu.

Thats how weightlifiting died off. We never bother beating that legacy or records.

Uzbekistan really did good I cant believe it they were the true underdogs they performed really well.

People who dont live in Turkiye have no say about stray animals.

Dogs should not be roaming the streets.

Kids come first so fck your feelings. People have the right to walk the streets without having 11 dogs gang up on them then rip them apart.

My older brother is going to Turkiye on september i even warned him about street dogs. Even told him carry a stick dont travel where the dogs have formed packs.

I would take stray cats over stray dogs any day. I dont hear cats killing kids. Yes stray animals should not be roaming around regardless of which species.

Still stray dogs have to go.

In Australia especially up north. I support culling Crocodiles as there are too many.

Happy Cyprus Peace Operation Aniversary!

In 1974, we have managed to save our brethren from genocide while we were grappling with undervelopment, industrial dependency and political polarization. Things might look bleak today, but we have the capacity do great things. Always give your best, never get discouraged, never be petty and keep on the good fight!
