Whats crazy how well pkk has infiltrated Turkish politics.

We are fcked.

It is because Turkey's electoral system encourages corruption and allows for infiltration of the state by hostile entities. The D'Hondt method, and the closed-list party-list proportional representation system that Turkey uses were designed to protect the politicians from the people, thus keeping power away from them.

The opposition wants to get rid of the presidential system because it is the only system that gives democratic power to the Turkish people. once the presidential system is lost, the people of Turkey will never have any say in how Turkey is run again.

question for the members do you still believe that the republic model of government was the best for Turkey, or would the country have been better of as a constitutional monarchy?

Every system is suspectible to corruption.

But man I actually hate monarchy because every fcking day they talk about the British Royal Family.

In Australia when the Queen died news here was non stop it made me go crazy.

So what; Should the electoral system be like in America? You know, that's the freest country, isn't it? Should parties be funded directly by companies?

there is a difference between a system that is susceptible to corruption and a system being built to sustain corruption. The Turkish system was built to maintain corruption and keep power away from the people just go read up on the D'Hondt method, a party-list proportional representation system, especially the Closed-list system.

OPTIMAR released an interesting poll today. It is one of the polling companies I follow closely as OPTIMAR predicted the 2018 elections nearly with pinpoint accuracy.

Fv6llzoWwAIpsPl

Election results according to OPTIMAR

2023 Cumhurbaşkanlığı Seçim Anketi

%50,4 Recep Tayyip Erdoğan
%44,7 Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu
%3,4 Sinan Oğan
%1,5 Muharrem İnce

Sample size 5950 person.

ORC and KONDA show a first-round Kılıçdaroğlu win.

Did you even read up on the closed-list proportional representation or the D'Hondt method?

The American system would be an improvement as it would mean the politicians would be directly elected into office, thus not only stopping parties from being run like they are dictatorships but also reducing them from being infiltrated by hostile entities.

Also, the is nothing in the closed-list proportional representation or the D'Hondt method that protects the Turkish elector system from being funded directly by companies.

Here is the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance webpage on funding rules in Turkey hope this helps you understand more about how the Turkish electoral system works.

2018 Elections
Voters in Turkiye 56.322.632
Voters in foreign countries 3.044.837
Total 59.367.469

2023 Elections
Voters in Turkiye 60.697.843
Voters in foreign countries 3.416.498
Total 64.113.941

The difference is 4.746.472 but that doesn't tell the whole story as every year approx 500k people die approx 2.5 million people died in 5 years so the voter base is increased by approx 7.25 million people. This is extremely fishy and makes zero sense. There is %100 something wrong with those numbers.

Turkey needs to lower its age limit on the presidential candidates. Having the age of 40 be the limit is just stupid and does nothing to benefit the nation. the only thing such an age limit does is restricts more codified individuals from running and guarantee only individuals that are out of touch with technology and social changes are allowed to have a chance of being president.

I'm surprised no one talks about this. It is crazy. It is like there is an agreement between parties to not to talk about this.

In the Derbent district of Konya, fake ballot papers stamped with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and CHP in the presidential and parliamentary elections were found in the vehicle of CHP District Chairman Salih Çakıllıkoyak. Action was taken against the operator of the printing house that printed the compasses, the delivery vehicle and the CHP District President. They were probably going to stir things up because Kılıçdaroğlu ballots came out of the garbage on the election day.

This is fake news
These are not voting papers.
