Finally, first Göksur live fire test of the missile. Looks like Beykoz is becoming the de facto test ship of the navy.

Looks like it's the single cell variant, being tested on an angle, which must be its first ever naval test.

A quick rundown of the active point defence air defence systems in the works with 4 infographics. Aselsan Göksur and Roketsan Levent are vying for the big contract to be chosen for general use aboard all ships bigger than a FAC. Göker-D is the naval variant of the land based Göker. MKE 20mm gun is missing for the last few years.

New type FAC and TF-2000 will use Levent or Göksur. Gökdeniz is projected to be used on up to 25 vessels of 5+ nations.

A version of MIDLAS called MIDLAS-SUB is also reportedly in the works for MilDen.

Göksur comes in three variations. STA is the standalone variant with its own EO and radars with 12 missiles ready to fire. Larger member lacks the EO and the radars but carries 20 ready to fire missiles more suitable for larger ships like air defence destroyers.

Aselsan is offering Göksur-VLS for "modern warships where space and speed are critical" with "enhanced space efficiency and reduced response times".

Thanks to Tr_tech, @Kaan Azman and Turdef.

Canister looks too big fpr this missile , Does this mean it will be able to shoot different bigger missiles ?
No, from what's available it's for Bozdoğan/Göksur only.

Nice catch:

"What is interesting about the first shot of the Göksur HSS fired from the TCG Beykoz ship is that the long-range air defense system Siper's missile data link system was installed on the ship."

Bozdoğan is not a small missile and its canister can't be small either. It has double the weight of Levent missile and 30kg heavier than MBDA VL Mica missile. It should be compared to VL Mica.

I like the way they put the VLS.

VLS should be always vertical and static?

İmagine as if the VLS was rotating, exhaust gas and flames wouldn't create fire hazardous while the missile intercept rapidly.

I would love to see umtas and other missiles in rotating VLS.

Anyway Göksur vls
seems great.
The system will enhance self defense of old frigates .

V in VLS stands for vertical, otherwise it's just a launcher, isn't it

Vertical launch tests will be done later. There is nothing surprising about launching it diagonally first before testing it vertically.
