Prob due to launchers not being ready to fire, when engagement is needed it will prob raise up to 90 degrees and fire.
Every single Siper (B1 and B2) launch we have seen so far have been angled.

Perhaps they are angled eastwards, or west depending on scenario.

I imagine our AD will be angled in the direction of the threat

This is a personal guess. The target generally approaches from a specific sector; they likely set a specific launch angle to increase the missile's energy and extend its range.

If this angle allows for fuel savings, the missile will still head toward the target even if it approaches from the opposite direction.

2.46 million Euros for hybrid ad systems (Gürz Family)
Most likely both army and airforce variants are now through qualification process and enter serial production.
Im thinking airforce will get one variant for air base protection and army truck and apc variants
2.46 Billion Euros is insane for a single contract!
Amazing that our armed forces have developed such trust towards our defence industry given that most products
are new and some can be acquired from abroad, not subject for sanctions.

Air Defense Contract Volume Reaches EUR 10.93 Billion Since December 2023

Based on ASELSAN contracts publicly announced since December 2023 for which the air defense share can be separately identified, the total nominal contract volume during this period has reached EUR 10.934 billion + USD 305.736 million + TRY 8.656 billion.

One of the first major contracts during this period was announced on 15 December 2023. ASELSAN and the SSB signed contracts and contract amendments covering air defense systems, with ASELSAN’s share amounting to EUR 428.54 million and TRY 4.88 billion.

In 2024, new contracts and amendments were announced for Naval Air Defense Systems worth EUR 15.63 million and TRY 182.31 million, Short-Range Air Defense Systems worth EUR 82 million, Air Defense Systems worth USD 36 million, and air defense missile subsystems worth EUR 59.14 million.

During the same year, an air defense system export contract worth USD 20.27 million was signed. This was followed in November by contracts worth EUR 135.11 million and TRY 1.64 billion, while a further contract worth USD 170.97 million and TRY 1.95 billion was signed in December for Air Defense Radar Systems.

ASELSAN’s air defense contracts began moving into the billion-euro range in 2025. On 10 September 2025, the company signed a EUR 1.65 billion contract with the SSB for the procurement of Air Defense Systems.

On 11 November 2025, new contracts worth EUR 1.122 billion were announced under ongoing Air Defense Systems serial production projects. In addition, ASELSAN signed a USD 78.5 million air defense system export contract with an international customer in August 2025.

EUR 7.44 Billion in Air Defense Contracts in 2026

The value of ASELSAN’s air defense contracts accelerated significantly in 2026.

· On 16 June, ASELSAN signed a EUR 780 million contract with the SSB for the procurement of Air Defense Systems, followed on 10 July by contracts worth EUR 1.470 billion under ongoing serial production projects.

· On 23 September, ASELSAN and ROKETSAN signed a EUR 1.234 billion contract for the procurement of subsystems for Air Defense Systems.

· On 1 October, new contracts worth EUR 1.0085 billion were announced under ongoing serial production projects for Long-Range Air Defense Systems. On 2 October, ASELSAN signed a further EUR 488.5 million contract for the export of Air Defense Systems to an international end user.

· The latest step came on 5 October with the signing of the EUR 2.46 billion Hybrid Air Defense Systems contracts.

As a result, the total value of ASELSAN’s euro-denominated contracts publicly announced between the beginning of 2026 and 5 October, for which the air defense share can be separately identified, reached EUR 7.442 billion.

The four air defense contracts announced during the approximately two-week period between 23 September and 5 October alone totaled EUR 5.191 billion.

Only Contracts with an Identifiable Air Defense Share Included in the Total

The calculation includes only ASELSAN contracts for which the value has been publicly disclosed and the air defense share can be separately identified.

The approximately USD 6.5 billion Air Defense and Missile Systems package involving ASELSAN and ROKETSAN in November 2025 was not included because the distribution of the total value by company and system was not disclosed. NATO programs and mixed export packages in which air defense systems were announced together with radar, electronic warfare, communications and other systems were likewise excluded.

Therefore, the total of EUR 10.934 billion + USD 305.736 million + TRY 8.656 billion does not represent ASELSAN’s entire air defense business volume. Rather, it represents contracts publicly announced between December 2023 and 5 October 2026 whose value can be directly attributed to air defense.

The EUR 2.46 billion Hybrid Air Defense Systems contracts announced on 5 October stand out as the largest single contract package during this period and, according to ASELSAN, the largest single contract signed in the company’s 51-year history.

TSK of 2010s and TSK of 2030s is going to be vastly different when it comes air and missile defense. One could say, several order of magnitudes increase in air and missile defense capability in a span of two decades. Good job Türkiye. 👍 👍

Not only the Turkish military but foreign military too going forward. Everybody needs such weapons, even Japan is looking for them. Maybe we should prioritize the users who need them the most so that they can be combat proven earlier than they will be when they are only in the Turkish inventory. While Türkiye's need for armament is increasing fast some foreign users need weapons like yester decade.

The sources said Ukraine had imported a small number of Turkish-made Korkut air defence systems

The system is designed to counter first-person-view and tethered drones using 25-millimetre smart ammunition.

"Korkut has been pretty much successful in countering the Russian attacks,” one Ukrainian official told MEE

“There were of course some problems but nothing that couldn’t be overcome through some small adjustments.”

Which part? To me it seems pretty clear cut. They got some amount of Korkut's it needed small adaptations to the field but "pretty successful" overall. And they are looking to buy more depending on the price. It becomes much more clear if you contrast it with Skynex which was assessed as: "Skynex demonstrated "low technical operational readiness," operated "extremely unreliably," and failed to meet the manufacturer's stated performance specifications."

Ukrainians aren't really ones to hype up hardware from what I seen.

The fact that Ukrainans are looking to by more tells that the adjustments are managable. That is probably all the detail we will know.

We should remember that both Aselsan and Roketsan were already building parts for the global Patriot fleet and was part of the ecosystem. Those all stopped in the last decade.
