The Multipurpose Amphibious Assault Ship (LHD) will be utilized in the Aegean, Black Sea and the Mediterranean operational areas, and if necessary, the Indian Ocean (north of the Arabian Peninsula and west of India) and the Atlantic Ocean (west of Europe and northwest of Africa).

The Multipurpose Amphibious Assault Ship, the TCG ANADOLU, can transport one amphibious battalion as well as carrying the necessary combat and support vehicles to the crisis regions without the support of the main base, taking part in landing operations with the landing vehicles it carries in its well-deck and providing the opportunity for the heaviest NATO helicopters in its inventory together with the tilt-rotor Osprey aircrafts to take part in day and night operations with its flight deck.

Additionally, the TCG ANADOLU on which tactical aircraft capable of Short Take Off and Vertical Landing (STOVL) like F-35B can deploy will be able to transform the regional force projection (transfer) capability of the Republic of Turkey into a medium-scale global force projection capability. The TCG ANADOLU will have an infirmary/hospital including an operating room, x-ray equipment, dental treatment units, intensive care and infection rooms with a capacity of at least 30beds and will be able to serve as a hospital vessel in humanitarian operations.

The Multi-Purpose Amphibious Assault Ship is planned to be built with a total/full displacement of 27,436 tons, 231 meters in length and will be the largest naval platform in the inventory of our Armed Forces.

"To deploy UAV on to TCG Anadolu @Selcuk We talked to Bayraktar and his team.
They are studying this right now. Issues such as how to put catapult and capture systems are being studied right now. "

Lets hope they wont ruin jet-resistant deck structure and coating with silly modifications for temporary solutions.
Extra hundred millions were paid just for STOVL capability another millions was paid for the coating.

In addition to above, bayraktar tb2 weights 650 kg at full load, which makes it easier to launch even with external catapults, which will not require heavy installations and reconstruction at the deck.
One of the wings can overhang, that's no issue, especially when it is going to use catapult and arrestor.
Quite risky, airflow/ turbulence etc. It is preferred to have all wings in.

TB2's wing length suitable for it, but i doubt ANKA would do it

I wouldn't think that they would use an existing land-based UAV. They would have to develop a completely new UAV with the Navy being heavily involved in the design and feature sets... would be exciting what Baykar Makina and ARMERKOM would come up with...

Being able to launch drones at a bad sea state is going to be unlikely. While at it, I wonder if it be viable to use a concept like a float plane, sea launched drone that can be stored in the well deck. Just use mother nature as the airstrip.

at what sea state can a manned craft be launched ?

Take-off weight matters as well, wing span differs by 5 meters, ANKA is twice and more as heavy as bayraktar.
What if they replaced old engine of TB2 with jet engine ? Jet engine would help to land safely against winds?

İt has wingspan 2.5 m and just weights 90kg. This Flapless aircraft design would suit LHDs?

EDİT : I've changed my mind. Unmanned harriers are most suitable for our LPD. If they copy the harrier platform and make it more compact , the ship wouldn't need any upgrades. Just smarter harriers would solve problems.

First model 1:8
Second 1:5

Fvck ! 1:3 bayraktar should try it.

Harrier's engine is hard to make. But a slower plane can be made with a helicopter engine. One that flies at like 60% the speed of a Harrier.

V/STOL is definitely the way to go, an unmanned version of Ryan XV-5 Vertifan would be perfect, I reckon :)
But, this would take years to develop.. but, atleast the LHD would not have to go through timely modifcations to the deck.. and would be operational during development of a V/STOL UCAV

Some of the disadvantages of the XV-5 type design could be aviliated with electrical fan drives

Sorry boss i found RYAN too complicated . Harrier jump jet is reliable, refined and simple. Anyway we need some f...n vtol uavs.

Edit: Our LPD has skijump so harriers best option.

This plane was experimental and doesn't seem to have worked. Engine exhausts are very long. Fans are in the wings. A recipe for failure.
