At the invitation of Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chief of Staff of the Italian Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the National People's Army, began an official visit to Italy, starting today, October 1, 2024.
The third and final day of the official visit of Lieutenant General Said Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the National People's Army, to Italy.
The Lieutenant General visited the Italian military industries company "Leonardo", which is considered one of the most prominent European companies specialized in defense industries and advanced technologies, and provides a variety of military solutions in the fields of aviation, space, land and naval defense systems. The Lieutenant General listened to comprehensive explanations about the latest technologies and defense systems provided by "Leonardo", and the Italian company's officials expressed their interest in strengthening their partnership with Algeria in various military industries systems. After that, the Lieutenant General visited the headquarters of the "Fincantieri" company specialized in naval military industries, where he watched a presentation on the history of the naval partnership between Algeria and Italy, and then learned about the company's capabilities in manufacturing warships and naval military equipment, and the latest technologies provided by the company. During the meeting, the two sides expressed their desire to enhance bilateral cooperation, where the company's general manager, Mr. Biagio Mazzotta, considered Algeria a close and serious partner at the regional and international levels, to finally discuss ways to transfer technology as well as enhance the exchange of expertise between military engineers and technicians from both sides.
During this reception, the two parties praised the excellent level of bilateral military cooperation between the two friendly countries, which reflects the level of understanding and great trust that characterizes Algerian-Italian relations on more than one level. They also reviewed the development of the situation and geopolitical transformations in the area of common interest.
The Lieutenant General also expressed his satisfaction with the level of Algerian-Italian military cooperation, and his full confidence in the ability of both parties to embody the joint will of the leaderships of the two countries, aimed at building a comprehensive strategic partnership In all sectors, especially those related to bilateral military cooperation ,that contributes to enhancing security and stability in the region.
