This part is weird to me, as the next question is about an MBT. Oshkosh makes heavy duty military trucks, as well as school busses. Heavy duty industry is always intertwined. Same with Otokar that builds armored vehicles and city busses. Why the worry?
Is Oshkosh Turkish company ? I don’t know anything of that company, but maybe it has a bigger customer base.

5k old cold war junks like T62 numbers doesn't mean anything If you tank lacks tech just look at the russians.

That junk is only useful in a total war scenario.

Right now total war is obsolete as armies rely more on technology and professionalism.

The era of mass conscription and sending out numbers is dying off.

Not to say you dont keep a quantity edge. Quantity is just as important as quality.

You need to have a an army of both quality and quantity. Something the Russians have forgotten with their cold war mentality now we see the results. In a attrition war they are useful but the Russiana are suffering enromous casualties just for a few meagre gains.

The use of pgm could have changed a lot for them especially.

Probably as a precaution since BMC wants to expand to the civilian sector as well

Good marketing move by Tosyali

So the first two will entire production by the end of 2024, and the last one will start production sometime during the start of 2025 nice.
Nope if there are no problems with the third option it will be selected. The first and the second option is there to provide a guarantee if the third option face problems.

bro, 14/15 million cost per unit simply makes it out of reach for lot of potential customers.

Turkish Kizilelma cost 15 million $. Do you really believe that it will cost Turkey 10 million? i would say around 7 millions is good price which is not bad to have especially if it can stand against 125mm Russian gun from 3 sides with Boron based armor. armor also costs a lot. having 50 of them is a lot of funnn )

Where have you been? first batch of 250 to be produced for Turkish land force are costing 14 million each. For export, naturally it would be higher.

I believe that figure was including R&D cost and startup cost (production line etc.). Turkiye plans to introduce 750 more tanks after the initial order for 250. The per unit price for the next 750 will be much lower.

It does not include R&D figures actually.

In 2018 the tender for BMC to serially produce 250 altay was worth $3.5 billion.

The per unit price for the next 750 will be much lower.
Not sure about that either, the altay next batch will come with upgrades. Which likely to increase the cost more.

Anyway, it would be a good choice for rich gulf states if they are interested.
Maybe small Turkic countries could also induct it in limited numbers.

No way Turkiye will introduce 750 Altays. It would be crazy expensive.

750 number would be 3-5 batches in the course of at least 20-30 years. On one hand, we have platforms we need to replace, on the other, we might not need a one on one replacement for them and UGVs might play a bigger role in procurement 2030 onwards.
