Today, an unprecedented event happened in the Turkish capital, Ankara, in which terrorists tried to blow themselves up infront of the Turkish Interior Ministry coupled with rifles and rocket launchers of US and Russian origins

It is either a message to the interior ministry after their recent crackdown on one of the biggest gangs in Turkey last week or an attack by PKK radicals

The Shmel and even that nicely specced M4 doesn't tell much about the attackers. All parties in Syria use these weapons.

Unlike few last attacks, they were not women as well. MO is similar to that of many groups we know but killing a veterinarian in Kayseri, hijacking his car and driving to Ankara in the same day for the attack is weird somewhat. PKK used rented and stolen vehicles in the past, so did ISIS. But killing a person first is new to my knowledge.

Also not clear where did that explosion originate. Vest and its wearer looks kind of intact unless both had vests on and the photos we saw are the second attacker. Shmel doesn't seem fired, its ends are still closed. It's a single use system, not reloadable. Maybe there was more than one?

Aftermath photo of the entrance. Seems the ballistic shields did their job nicely. Barriers will need replacing.

General question. How would you improve the security here without slowing down the daily life too much? A better armed pillbox for the guarding police behind the shields could be a start i think.

Either Far Leftists or Islamist extremists

Im not including Far Right because there hasnt been any activity for decades from the Far Right regarding terror activities.

Turkiye has usually suffered lots of attacks from Pkk, Maoist groups, Al Qaeda and Isis.

We should not ignore their splinter groups like TAK and the Turkestan Raiders group.

So many terrorist groups use Russian weapons or Chinese Weapons in the past now their arsenal is full of not just Russian or Chinese or whatever Warsaw pact weapons its also full of American and European weapons.

Turkish Weapons sold in the US domestic market have now made their way into Cartel hands.

What needs to be done is where they are getting it from. Who is it?

This needs to be opened up. Its obvious how the Russians and the Americans send weapons to their proxy groups. The problem is its never exposed.

Whenever we hear Al qaida or isis be sure it's the cia or Mossad... I don't think we had bigger qaida or else problems rather than someone using this flag..

You are comparing civilian guns available over the counter to military weapons such as anti-tank missiles. A bit of the target comparison.

DW being the total clowns they are, puttingthe word terrorists between quotation marks to play the incident down.

At this point I strongly believe they feel really hurt that no one got killed. DW has been known to support PKK affiliated people anyway.

I know its not comparable but shows how globalised the black market has become.
