Distinguished Observer Day activities of the Erciyes-2023 Exercise were completed with the participation of Land Forces Commander General Selçuk BAYRAKTAROGLU, 4th Corps Commander Major General Ahmet KURUMAHMUT and other military officials.
"Erciyes-2023 Exercise", which was held at the 1st Commando Brigade Command stationed in Kayseri and started at night, ended with an airborne operation. The exercise held at Martyr Lieutenant Hasan BAK Jumping Field near İncesu district. The exercise organized by the 1st Commando Brigade Command, which has the ability to perform airborne operations among the commando brigades affiliated to the Land Forces Command, carried out this in the Cyprus Peace Operation and also took part in counter-terrorism operations.
Within the scope of the exercise scenario, 180 paratrooper commandos on C-130 and C-160 transport planes, which took off from the 12th Air Transport Main Base Command, landed in the area. Commandos who jumped with parachutes carried out an operation against a representative enemy combat center. A target was shot with UVAV in the area cleared of terrorists. The targets at the dominant point of the region were destroyed with the artillery dropped by helicopter into the enemy area. After the region was taken under control, AFAD and Red Crescent officials were brought to the area by helicopter for humanitarian aid. The exercise ended with a respect jump with the flags of 10 countries.
The United Kingdom and Bahrain had observers in the exercise, in which Azerbaijan, Georgia, Pakistan, Libya, Spain, Italy and Uzbekistan participated. 17 aircraft, including 5 transport aircraft, 2 attack helicopters, 6 general purpose helicopters and 2 cargo helicopters, were used in the exercise, in which 652 personnel took part with 67 vehicles and 354 weapons of different diameters and types.
