There is however a disturbing information hidden between the lines here.

It is stated that Allison will make 100 millions dollars a year out of this transmission deal. 32 transmissions per year puts the price over 3 million dollars a piece.

That is an outrageous price for a transmission. Allison has won the US Abrams transmission contracts in 2024 for 83 million and for 2025 recently for 80.6 million dollars. We know that currently US Abrams factory’s maximum output is around 135 units a year, or 12 per month at best. That puts a more powerful transmission at around 0.6 million a piece.
That 100 million dollars price must be for the complete project of 140 Firtina’s.

Turkey has signed a contract with US firm Allison for millions of dollars, covering the transmission of Firtina-2 howitzers.
In addition to the 10 transmissions received last year, there will be a further 32 transmissions to be delivered in 2025. Allison expects a yearly income over 100 million dollars.
There is no new news about the engine though. Presumably Utku will be the engine of choice. But until it is ready the engine from RENK America factory will be powering the howitzers as per the news below.

There will be 140 to 160 Firtina-2 howitzers built altogether under this contract.

Sorry to ask but didnt MKE already made an electric version of the Firtina?
Why would they chose the more expensive route when they can just opt for the domestic solution!

Because E-Fırtına is NOT solution yet. It's a experimental vehicle/weapon.

That is truly an outrageous price if that's all they are delivering.

How many Firtinas have we produced so far, any updated numbers?
