Does anyone have a clear map of the agreed regions?

There's loads circulating but some for example include Shusha as part of "Russian controlled", whilst others do not.

Only Lachin corridor and Hankendi are Russia protected, i have actually no clue why such a big area is shown as Russian control on each map...

If thats the case then this deal was reasonable (no use AZ controlling the largest city full of Armenians. It would cause an international outcry (in terms of population displacement).) , based on some of these maps though RUS controls a fair amount of NK.

If they only control Lachin and Hankendi why have the stationed such vasts amounts of equipment?

Well in theory Hankendi and Lachin might get in Azeri control too in 5-10 years but its Russian we are dealing with so Azerbaijan better prepares for the worst case scenario in the mean time.

Doc. 10991
28 June 2006

Illegal settlement of Armenians in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan by Armenia as a gross violation of the principles of international law

Motion for a recommendation
presented by Ms. Pashayeva and others

This motion has not been discussed in the Assembly and commits only the members who have signed it

The Republic of Armenia while ignoring the four UN Security Council Resolutions on unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan as well as the PACE Resolution 1416 claiming liberation of the Azerbaijani territories and repatriation of displaced Azerbaijanis to their homelands, jeopardizes the process of direct negotiations between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The policy of illegal settlement of Armenians in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan contradicts the norms of international law and the above-mentioned documents as well. Armenia tries to reinforce its “status quo” on the occupied lands of Azerbaijan and to impede the repatriation of displaced Azerbaijani population by rapidly increasing number of Armenians settling in these territories.

According to the official figures in 1989, the number of Armenians living in the Mountainous Karabagh, Autonomous Region of Azerbaijan before the conflict was 145.450. In order to increase this number to 300.000 people till 2010 year Yerevan pursues special state policy. According to another data, including Armenian sources, during the latest recent years 23.000 people have been settled in the occupied Mountainous Karabagh region as well as seven other occupied regions including 13.000 people in Lachyn, 700 people in Kalbajar, 520 people in Zangilan, 280 people in Jabrayil.

Before the Armenian invasion the overall population of these regions was Azerbaijanis. Armenia and the Karabakh separatists forced the Azerbaijanis to leave their homes and succeeded in ethnic cleansing in the regions. Hundreds of ethnic Armenian families from Armenia and other countries from all over the world have also been settled in Aghdam, Fizuli and other occupied Azerbaijani territories. According to Yerevan’s state program 15.000 people are to be moved to the occupied city of Shusha of Azerbaijan furthermore.

The Armenia’s policy of illegal settlement of Armenians in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan has been also reflected in the documents of some international organizations (UN Sub-Commission on Promotion and Protection of Human Rights Working Group on Minorities, U.S. Committee for Refugees, World Refugee Survey 2002 Country Report, Armenia, U.S. Department of State, Country Reports on Human Rights Practices, Azerbaijan, 25 February 2004, section 2 (d), Report on the Activities of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office on the Conflict Dealt with by the OSCE Minsk Conference, 1 September – 31 October 2004).

At the same time, in the paragraph 6 of article 49 of Geneva Convention has been indicated: “The occupying power shall not deport and transfer of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies”. It means that an illegal deportation and settlement of the population in the ocucupied territories is a gross violation of international law.

Azerbaijan, which is seriously concerned over the Armenia’s violation of all norms and principles of international law (the 4 UN Security Council Resolutions, PACE, Geneva Convention) as well as continuation of its illegal steps in this direction, has appealed to the UN General Assembly about the conditions in its occupied territories. In the final report it has been noted that the Fact-finding Mission has observed the settlement in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. The strong recommendation of the fact-finding mission indicates: “The OSCE Minsk Group challenges the co-chairmen not to permit any further migrants to the occupied territories”.

Having expressed its deep concern of the illegal settlement of Armenians in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, the Assembly encourages:

- to call immediately the Armenian authorities to stop their state policy of illegal settlement of Armenians on the occupied Azerbaijani territories

- to call immediately the Council of Europe member states to take the necessary steps to influence Armenia to suspend the policy contradicting norm and principles of international law including PACE resolutions.

It looks like the real deal was made before the start of this war.
Putin to teach the Armenian leadership a lesson and Aliyev to show his people that he ''fights'' for them.
Putin reached his goal,so did Aliyev.
The downing of that helicopter must have been the sign for Aliyev to stop operations.
Sounds familiar(two Turkish Operations in Syria, one in Libya)?
Putin is involved in all,the only winner of all these operations.
Everyone else lost and the biggest loser of all this is my country(for those with brains).
You say the same garbage every time Turkey does anything. In every conflict you predicted doom and gloom, and every single time you've been wrong, and still you delude yourself, having learned nothing. "For those with brains", this is the saddest thing I've seen written in this forum.

And which one of my ''predictions'' or claims was false?
Which one of the operations we started,we finished properly?
Lets start with Syria,

Operation Euphrate Shield:the goal was to clear all North Western territories west of the Euphrate river held by the YPG,namely the Azaz district and Manbij.
The outcome is seen on the picture below.

1605069245594.png

The operation ended before taking Manbij.

Then came operation Olive Branch:this time the goal was to take the Afrin district with again Manbij.

1605068646667.png

The yellow and orange parts still in the hand of YPG/PKK.

Then came operation Peace spring:the goal was to create a 20km corridor(buffer zone) on our southern border with Syria, clear the YPG/PKK from that area.

1605069876002.png

This operation also ended without achieving our goals.

Manbij still under YPG/PKK control,we still have 4 million Syrian refugees.
Assad killed 40+ of our soldiers, instead of finishing Assad while we could we made a deal with Russia, observation points and some joint patrols.
What happened next?
Assadists still attacking us and what did we do?
Turkish soldiers retreated from some Idlib observation points.

And here you come with your infamous wisdom and knowledge trying to make a point.
I made my points, its up to you to counter my arguments.

Thanks to the Kurds and Armenians that the Russians have gained a full blown foothole in our backyards.

Thanks these two retards and their retarded wet dreams. Two sides of the same cowardly coin.

What did we do we either beated around the bush or was blind to what was going on or we were too busy trying to appease the international community with that bullshit farce called "international law".

In that situation, nobody could have stopped us,we stopped ourselves.
40+ soldiers killed by Assad an we just stop for nothing in return?
Just think about it.

The Politicians always let us down.

40+ soldiers were killed by Russia+ Assad. Assad had no capability in pulling that attack by itself.

Honestly we aint going to do much as long as Russia and USA are there.

Thats why their proxies are laughing at us and taunting us.

Just a matter of time where the wolves are getting ready to eat. So the kurds and armenians should not celebrate.

That is why I am saying Azerbaycan needs to establish bordergates for transport and fully equip it. Someone with government contact should tell them. Russians may patrol, but the infrastructure should be of our choosing.

Russia can't say no to that. Massive China/Israel style surveillance system on both sides. Armenia and checkpoint style to Hankenti

@T-123456 you are right to be honest.

Russia stopped us in our tracks.

Kobani and Manbij was mostly US protection. In Manbij the Assadists set up a buffer later though Russians were involved.

Sirte and Jufra they had a smaller role through Wagner and I don't think that they were they main cause of operation to stop.

And in Idlib, there wasn't really an operation but preventing Assads operation, and the Turks stopped themselves once they had taught Assad a lesson.

But its true Assad would not have been able to do anything without Russian air support. But it was the Turks that put an end to Assads operation not the other way round.

And this operation wasn't really stopped by the Russians even though they are a major ally of Armenia. At some points it was as if they forgot Armenia existed.

All that said, Russia has taken a beating in terms of its military hardware being reduced to scrap in all these incidents.

I think both sides will have similar concerns regarding restrictions and security of their corridors. So they have to find something that is mutually agreeable. And I think that Azeris have more to gain from the Nakchivan corridor.

If all goes as agreed, it will be a good end to the conflict. Can't wait for the first withdrawal date (15th I think) and see if things go to plan. If not TBs need to start blowing shit up.

In worst case Nakcivan stays as it is. Nothing lost, nothing gained.

I find it more important to implement security and surveillance systems in Karabag after the way this campaign has ended. Call it trust issues.
