Nikol Pashinyan is being made the scapegoat of the Armenian defeat,but the reality is a bit more complex ;

He did take a difficult decision when the country's situation on the field was unsustainable.

Armenia is an unstable country and where corruption is widespread, hampering the modernization of its armed forces and its decision-making apparatus.

It's inability to anticipate the rise of the Azerbaijani army and the myth of the "Armenian superiority" linked to previous wars and conflicts, inability to adapt and counter new means of warfare.

Too much confidence placed in the Russian ally, who was more pragmatic than expected.

The fault lies also to previous Armenian politicians who ruled out any concessions that could have resolved the conflict peacefully.
His biggest mistake was to decide to challenge Turkey's territorial integrity by deciding to pursue a foreign policy that recognizes treaty of sevres rather than lausanne.

Remember that Turkey was willing to open the border to Armenia and find a diplomatic solution to Karabakh conflic not long ago. But Pashinyans hostility showed Turkey that a peaceful solution is simply not possible which pushed Turkey to punish Armenia by supporting Azerbaijan unconditionally even in a armed conflict. The goal was to give Armenia and others in the region enough trauma to forget its megalomaniac ideas once for all. The good part for Turkey is it also serves as an exsample to others in the area too *caugh, Syria, caugh* which is a welcome side effect.

PM Nikol Pashinyan addresses the conference on 100 years of signing of Treaty of Sevres

I welcome all participants of ofthis conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Sevres. Thank you very much for initiating this important event.

The Treaty of Sevres is a milestone in Armenian modern history, and it is not by mere chance that it continues to be a subject of scientific research and analysis. Therefore, I consider it extremely important that our scholars’ unbiased analysis of the document signed a century ago and the events that preceded it become available to our people and to the wider international community, as well. Today’s conference serves that very purpose, and I wish all of you successful proceedings, fruitful discussions and new important findings.

The Treaty of Sevres is a historical fact. It remains so to this day. What is the benefit that we can draw from that document? Why is it still in the focus of our attention?

First, the Treaty of Sevres came in the aftermath of World War I - one of the most dramatic chapters in human history - almost two years after its end. Just as the Treaty of Versailles established peace in Europe, in the same way, the Treaty of Sevres was meant to bring peace to the former Western Asian territories of the Ottoman Empire. It put an end to the war-driven sufferings and deprivations experienced by the peoples of our region. It heralded the end of the “cursed years.”

Like the Treaty of Versailles, the Treaty of Sevres shaped a new system of interstate relations in the region. It introduced new principles and values, which should have established not only lasting peace, but also justice in Western Asia.

The Treaty was anchored on the most advanced ideas of the time. It specifically highlighted the principle of self-determination and equality of peoples. It put an end to the centuries-old subjugation imposed by empires, bringing freedom and independence to the peoples of the region.

Moreover, by granting peoples the right to establish nation-states in their historical territories, it created favorable conditions for peaceful coexistence of Muslims and Christians in the region, promoted and further developed the region’s cultural and ethnic diversity.

Second, the Treaty of Sevres was the first international document to recognize and enshrine Armenia’s independence. The Republic of Armenia acted as an equal party to the Treaty.

Centuries after the loss of independence, the Armenian authorities for the first time signed an international treaty along with the world’s great powers. The Republic of Armenia was recognized as a full member of the international community, an equal subject of international law within the limits set out in the Treaty.

Being a party to the Treaty, Armenia and its people were recognized as key contributors to the victory of the Allies in World War I and the establishment of peace. The Treaty highlighted and properly assessed the role of the Armenian people in international relations and in the post-war global governance.

Third, in its Article 89, the Treaty of Sevres reaffirmed our nation’s indisputable historical association with the Armenian Highland, wherein the Armenian people had originated, lived, developed their statehood and culture for millenia.

And finally, the Treaty of Sevres was signed in the wake of the Armenian Genocide as the Ottoman Empire was trying to resolve the “Armenian Question” by exterminating the Armenians. Our people were subjected to the most brutal and inhuman suffering. Enormous losses were inflicted on our nation. Meanwhile, the Treaty of Sevres paved the way for overcoming the consequences of the Genocide. The establishment of the independent Armenian statehood in its ancestral homeland was the fair solution of the “Armenian Question.” Historical justice was being restored. Favorable conditions were created for reinstating our people’s economic and demographic potential and ensuring its natural development.

Although the Treaty of Sevres was never implemented, it continues to be a historical fact, which reflects our long journey to restore our independent statehood. We are bound by duty to remember it, realize its importance and follow its message.

We should build ski resort and farm the cash from non turkish visitors. 5000 usd for a week hotel stay 2 ppl

Btw. if it wasnt for covid, Turkish ski resorts would have reached all-time high visitors this year and investments for construction of more.

They should indeed turn the mountain to a ski-destination.

French Senate adopts resolution urging government to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh

PARIS, November 25. /TASS/. The French Senate has passed a resolution containing a call on the government to officially recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, 305 senators out of 306 present voted for the resolution on Wednesday.
"[The Senate] urges the French government to recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and use this recognition as a tool in the talks to establish lasting peace," the approved document notes.
In turn, French Secretary of State at the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne expressed the opinion that "unilateral recognition of Karabakh will do no good for anyone" and will not serve to boost mediation efforts. He recalled that France, a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, backs implementation of the ceasefire agreement reached on November 9. Experts explained that the resolution serves as a recommendation and has no mandatory power.
According to the resolution, the Senate is calling for immediate withdrawal of Azerbaijani forces from the territories captured in the disputed region since September 27, an international investigation into war crimes and use of prohibited weapons. Moreover, the senators recommended that the government "draw conclusions on the role played by Turkish authorities and consider most decisive measures together with European partners."

Baku slams French Senate resolution on Nagorno-Karabakh as provocation

Earlier the French Senate has passed a resolution containing a call on the government to officially recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic

BAKU, November 25. /TASS/. The French Senate resolution calling on the government to recognize independence of the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh can only be regarded as a provocation, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said Thursday, commenting on the decision made by the French lawmakers.
"The adoption of the completely biased resolution by the Senate can only be regarded as provocation. It seems that the French Armenians are widely using the topic of the conflict for electoral purposes," the ministry’s statement reads.
The diplomatic agency underlined that the resolution has no legally binding effect. "However, considering the political significance of this document, its adoption in France, a country that has the status of a mediator, raises serious doubts about this country’s neutrality," the statement emphasizes. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry recommended that the French Senate "do activities that facilitate peace, stability and progress in the region rather than pass biased resolutions."

Yes I referred to this in this post earlier: https://defencehub.live/threads/aze...n-updates-discussion.1423/page-272#post-25133

The summary of Mr. Gupta's analysis overall was the significance of drone warfare to determine the result on the ground...something of a new innovation put into practice for first time etc.

Oryx article was referenced (by Mr. Gupta) to give perspective to this regarding the material losses inflicted by these 2 drone types (tb2 and harop)

My estimation on Azeri martyred are 1500-2500.
almost 90 % of our losses are from 82 and 120mm mortals coming from hidden places in forest and so many huge ballistic missiles and Smerch, just imagine, they used best Russian 500km range Ballisti missiles(two confirmed with video) on 50-60 km range from Armenian land but still they were not able to stop the attack. Their army and president still doesn't know how their more than 2000-3000 soldiers died in Shusha alone. shows that there were communication jamming during the attack. Pashinyan said that he wanted to know what happened there, army told that they are able to communicate with one 50 soldiers team, but when pashinyan called them, they found out that they are actually in Stepanakert. this part alone shows how stupid they controlled their army.
