Armenia started to evacuate the Armenians in the region in order to open the Lachin corridor to Azerbaijan.

They are being removed from Lachin as the area is being handed over to Azerbaijan. A newly built route will serve as the connection for the Armenians

No, actually the route in question is very different. According to the agreement reached in December 2020, the Zangezur corridor would be close to the Iranian border. However, now the Lachin corridor is 70 km away from the Iranian border.

You misunderstood me. Azerbaijan built a new road to replace the current lachin corridor. The new road avoids population centres meaning that all villages now must be handed over to Azerbaijan

Lachin corridor was supposed to be for Armenians to be able to travel to Karabakh. Zangezur corridor is for Azerbaijanis to be able to travel to Nakhchivan. We are building an alternate road that doesn't go through Lachin which will be used by Armenians while Lachin will be handed over to Azerbaijan. The Armenians there will be required to leave because they are pretty much all settlers from the Armenian mainland who occupied houses of Azerbaijanis in addition to Armenians from Syria and Lebanon who arrived later. Only exception AFAIK is for those Armenians who can provide indisputable proof that they were living in the area before the First Karabakh War.

As for the Zangezur corridor, I don't think Armenians have even started any work on it. There isn't even much to do, unlike us having to build a brand new route Armenians merely need to rebuild an existing transport route from Soviet times.
