I have a sneaking suspicion that Russia is somehow involved in stirring this up but I can't be 100% sure.

Armenia certainly isn't doing themselves any favors by stalling on such basic things as a corridor through Syunik/Zangezur and pulling their armed forces out of Karabakh. It was literally in the ceasefire agreement but for some reason they keep wiping their ass with it and get a pass.

In fact, Russia never wanted Azerbaijan to win in the first place since it is closer to its rival Turkey and Armenia is literally controlled by Russia behind the scenes. What made Russia reluctant to intervene in the first place was the fact that Turkey got involved in the war earlier and the Russians didnt want to lose personnel for a country with no significant worth like Armenia; moreover, they were still belittling Turkish drones at the time. Even now, Azerbaijna supports Ukraine while Armenia is sending volunteers to aid Russia in its war. This alone is a sign of whom Russia wants to win

But now it is different, with Russian soldiers in the field, they will slowly arm the Armenians and when the time is ready will just initiate an all out war to regain everything that Azerbaijan took in Karabagh. However, with the current Ukrainian war, Russian supplies are running a bit dry and it will take a bit more time to rearm the Armenians

Lets not forget that Turkey is under massive pressure from the West to make peace with Armenia since they are infuriated that Turkey aided the "Muslim" Azeris against the "Christian" Armenians. Turkey will try to close this front since the greek propaganda in the west is gaining steam and more propaganda from various sides will be disadvantageous for Turkey

Rn, Aliyev should seize the opportunity and take all of Artsakh and possible try to reconnect with the separate Azeri province bordering Turkey; although this means direct confrontation against Russia
