Greek cypriots condemn Azeribaijan accuse her of ethnic cleansing.
Translated article;
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns in the strongest terms Azerbaijan's military operation on September 19 and 20 in Nagorno-Karabakh and the flagrant violation of the Ceasefire Agreement of November 9, 2020. As a result of Azerbaijan's aggression tens of thousands of Armenians have been displaced from their ancestral homes, while the loss of human life due to the unacceptable and unjustified use of force, in violation of international law, including international humanitarian law, is enormous. Undoubtedly, these unilateral actions of Azerbaijan constitute acts of ethnic cleansing and therefore should be met with a corresponding and decisive response from the international community.
As a matter of principle, we support respect for the sovereignty and territorial
integrity of all states, and call on Azerbaijan to refrain from
any further hostilities, respecting its commitments to
the territorial integrity of Armenia under the Almaty Declaration
(1991).
Under the burden of continuous developments and rapid deterioration of the
situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continuously raises the issue of
Azerbaijan's military aggression both within the EU framework
and in other international fora. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates its call for a comprehensive, sustained and inclusive dialogue to ensure
the rights and security of Karabakh Armenians
, as well as to achieve lasting peace and stability
in the wider region.
Given the traditionally historical and strong ties between Cyprus and Armenia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs is in communication with his Armenian counterpart. It goes without saying that the Republic of Cyprus maintains open passages for the Armenian people. Within this framework, the Cypriot Government is ready to immediately provide humanitarian assistance to the expelled Armenians of Karabakh who are leaving their ancestral homes by the thousands. Therefore, among other things, ways of accommodating a number of displaced Armenians in our country are being considered, should such a need arise."
