For starters, it has a Chinese radar. I would very much like our AAMs to be as far as possible from any Chinese radars. We know however that Roketsan and GIDS are working together on new AAMs. Those could be deployed on Azerbaijani JF-17s as well.

If iirc, there was an option of Vixen-1000 for JF-17C from Leonardo. Though Azerbaijan probably has to pay for integration cost.

That is the older specs. It now has improved SAR resolution of 0.5m.

For air-cooled radar of that size, 170km detection range against 5m2 RCS target is decent imo.

although you do get what you pay for, 170km range for AESA radar is pretty poor, in comparison AN/AGP-83 on F-16s has more than double the range.

But regardless, air to air combat in this region is unlikely as Armenia has a total of 4 Su-30s and a few Su-25s left over from the war.

USH Security Azerbaijan is providing licensed NATO weapons to Azerbaijan military, some of the products produced by the company include,

CADEX-50 Tremor and CADEX CDX-33 Lite both of which were recently adopted by Azerbaijani Special Forces as a standard sniper rifle.

USH Security also has licensed production of latest Beretta NARP, ARX-160 and ARX 200 DMR, all of which are being offered to Azerbaijani Army, and being seriously considered as Azerbaijan is looking to ink a major defense deal with Italy, ARX 200 DMRs will probably replace SVDs among special forces.

USH Security has also made their own AR platform Turan-1, in 7.62 and is proposing it to the Army

Instrumented ranges are not that relevant. APG-83 has 90km detection range against 1m² RCS target. Similar in performance to this. Though APG-83 has better SAR resolution and higher simultaneous engagement capability. (As expected given it is derived from APG-81.)

Azerbaijan to modernize 23 ZSU-23-4 Shilkas jointly with CSG and Elbit, the upgrade will include a new radar system, COAPS-L from Elbit and integration of 4 Verba manpads from Russia. I believe these Shilkas were due for retirement but due to threats of UAVs are being put back into service

COAPS-L from Elbit.

That's some really nice upgrades. I mean picking Elbit for this is probably a wise choice because there aren't any country going to say no when Israelies come with the subcontracts. well thought out :)
