Would make sense if Turkey was involved in increasing the numbers, it would maybe not be possible to buy jf17 for Turkey but if Azerbaijan bought more and stationed them in here temporarily as a stopgap measure under a unified command, that would make sense.
Why would we need any JF-17's?

To me this deal feels expensive. Pakistan bought 20 J10CE for roughly $1.5 billion. Including associated systems.

Is that official info? Something tells me it’s just speculation.

Let me give you another example. Austria is paying €1 billion for 12 M-346FA, and that aircraft is nowhere near JF-17C Block III.

How would Turkey be involved? In what way?

initially it was 16, now increased to 40 with additional 24 aircrafts.

if it was 64 aircrafts in total, they would have mentioned it in their 'diplomatic victory' post. It specifically says, $4.6 billions to purchase 40 aircrafts.

I don't know but $4.6 billion for 40 JF-17 Block 3s sounds too much, $4.6 bil for 64 sounds more plausible

It also doesn't mention that order was simply increased from 16 to 40, it says just a new contract for 40 aircraft, the previous deal for $1.6 bil was signed last year.

Nowhere is 64 mentioned. This is also the first time the numbers are officially mentioned, previous ones were only speculations.

As for being too much, 1: We don’t know the details, and 2: See the above example of Austria’s M-346FA purchase.

From official documents. Those were posted somewhere in this forum a while ago.

Does it says anything on whether the JF17A (A For Azerbaycan) comes with Turkish avionics of any kind, or can use Turkish munitions ? Could the high price be related to such ? Like source codes ?

That would require Chinese approval. I doubt that. They would probably want to sell their own stuff. Beside, Does Türkiye even wants to integrate its high end missiles with Chinese radar and fire control systems? Guided bombs are easier to integrate. I can see them with JF17c.

I don't know the level of partnership on JF17 between Pakistan and China, but as you pointed out it's easier to integrate guided munition. But would Pakistan have a Partnership that gave access to source codes ?

-Dont know the rest but There is something almost certain some Azerbaycan's JF17 will have AselPOD. :devilish:

-As Turkey I hope eventually we will have our chance to extend Azerbaycan's JF 17's precision stand off capabilities.

-PL-15E is an impressive missile with a Aesa seeker, two-way datalink and dual-pulse. Anyway Azerbaycan should increase relations with China.

-Historically Armenia has always been the main issue for Azerbaycan but what we are seeing now is Azerbaycan is preparing herself for bigger roles and bigger enemies like İran as well.

-Dont know I am hoping that Azerbaycan will/may consider barbaros costal deffence system in the near future as well not necessarily Atmaca but even Çakır would be enough to protect her intersts in Hazar
