Would make sense if Turkey was involved in increasing the numbers, it would maybe not be possible to buy jf17 for Turkey but if Azerbaijan bought more and stationed them in here temporarily as a stopgap measure under a unified command, that would make sense.

Following the adoption of the Shusha Declaration, the Greeks are also considering this possibility:

"...in the event of a military clash with Turkey, Greece should also consider Azerbaijan as a potential adversary, primarily its Air Force and special forces.

Furthermore, the Azerbaijanis have two batteries with approximately 200 Russian S-300MMU2 anti-aircraft missiles, which Greece also possesses, with all the ensuing consequences.

The same applies to Qatari Rafale fighters, 12 of which, according to the recent military agreement between Turkey and Qatar, will be stationed in Turkey over the next five years.

The above concerns should concern personnel and political leadership before it is too late."

That's weird, why now? They don't really need the planes if jf17s are arriving and what do they need to appease russia for currently? That many planes would make Azerbaijan disproportionately powerful for such a small population and economy, it would be costly to maintain with a gdp of 75 billion

Don't believe it. It's impossible. The Russians are too late. We would have bought these fighters 10-15 years ago, but not anymore. Spare parts for previously purchased military equipment and ammunition – yes. But nothing more.

I've been watching the Russian Air Force since the first day of the war. Neither the Su-35, nor even the vaunted Su-57, have achieved anything in the skies over Ukraine.
The Israeli Air Force took control of the skies over Iran in 36 hours. The Russians haven't been able to do that for three and a half years.
The actions of Russian military aviation in Ukraine are a complete failure.
As is their entire military campaign.
