During this visit, he will see the progress of the BAF C-130B aircraft which is now under overhauling process at "CASCADE Aerospace".
I would support this. Given how poor our road and rail connectivity is across the country, we need the ability to airlift entire brigades to conflict areas within days.
This and some heavy lift helos like AW-101.I would support this. Given how poor our road and rail connectivity is across the country, we need the ability to airlift entire brigades to conflict areas within days.

not just for defence, but for disaster relief ops and as part of a supply chain to CHT and other ''durgom'' (not so easily accessible areas) areas in emergencies, should they arise.
The BAF C-130s were very active in ferrying vaccines from China to BD last year. There is no ''loss'' in investing in transport and logistics equipment.
A good airlift capability is good. I think we also need the army to have a ferry or ship based trasportation of heavy weapons acrross the country. We are a nation cris-crossed with rivers, we have to assume the worst that in wartime all our bridges will be damaged or destroyed.
Good aircraft but unreliable supplier. Consistent supply of American arms is dependent on the mood of the day of America.
@Isa Khan you mentioned our technicians in France, is it possible they are looking at A-400M atlas ?
The PM herself mentioned that BD was interested in cargo planes from Airbus ( in the presence of the Airbus CEO)
Bro this is different , a well maintained C-130 frame can serve for 50 years. Plus we are establishing a MRO plant for them. C-130 has no equal (maybe Antonov but they are pretty much destroyed)

We probably should get a mix of Chinese, Russian and American transport aircraft. Should not put all our eggs in one basket.
A400M is too expensive. Better buy 3 IL-76 at the price of one A400M.
That's for Biman.
How many do they have
for lease or ownership ?
8 for now.
ownership.
impressive.
