Bangladesh Army Bangladesh Army Procures BORAN 105mm Howitzers From Türkiye

Bangladesh Army has purchased BORAN 105 mm Air Transportable Light Towed Howitzer from Turkish company MKE. Initially 18 howitzers have been purchased.

MKE officials stated that there is a sale of BORAN howitzers to Bangladesh, and sales to three countries, whose names are not to be named, are on the agenda. One of these countries triples the demand of Turkey.

First export to Bangladesh​

MKE made the first agreement for BORAN with Bangladesh. Other countries will follow.

Indicating that there is an important competition in the world, İlhami Keleş said, “BORAN's importance is increasing day by day. We have another competitor in the world. For Bangladesh, the sale is ok. The need of a country, which I will not name, is twice that of Turkey,” he said.

Currently, MKE continues its efforts to export to different countries. New export agreements for BORAN are also on the way.

Boran, an air-portable 105-millimetre towed howitzer manufactured at MKE A.Ş.’s Çankırı Weapons Factory, will be delivered to the Bangladesh army in the first months of 2024. With the delivery of 18 units, the first howitzer export in the history of the Republic will be realized.
