Our government isn't run by retards. Not since 2024.

Everything is definitely not as usual.

Well the country that by your definition run by retards is the only one that is actually stable in the neighborhood. While others are running on IMF giveouts or being in line to get Indian resources in cheap rates so that their country wouldnt go under.

Still doesn't negate what I said. Like releasing venomous snakes at the border as a strategy sound retarded.

Retards are your media who basically took a what if point for the closing the unfencable points of the border. They are just doing a study to find out if it has any viability. You have to think out of the box when really Bangladesh border is the biggest security issue our country is facing.

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detained an Indian national for allegedly entering Bangladesh illegally through a border area in Chattogram's Fatikchhari.

The detainee, identified as Puton Mollo, 19, was apprehended around 1:30pm today (22 June) from North Andharmanik, a border-adjacent area of the upazila, with assistance from local residents.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued by Lieutenant Colonel Md Ahsan Ul Islam, commanding officer of the Ramgarh Battalion (43 BGB).

According to the release, Puton Mollo is the son of Badal Mollo of Ramendranagar village under Sabroom Police Station in South Tripura, India.

BGB said preparations are underway to file a case against him under the relevant laws. He will be handed over to Bhujpur Police Station for further legal proceedings.

The border force also reiterated its commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty, preventing illegal border crossings and combating transnational crimes.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has prevented an attempt by India's Border Security Force (BSF) to push nine people including women and children into Bangladesh through Sapahar border in Naogaon.

According to a press release issued by Naogaon-16 BGB today (24 June), the incident took place around 4am near Adatola Border Outpost (BOP) under Sapahar upazila.

Members of India's 29 BSF Battalion from Elenpur camp attempted to push nine individuals- three men, three women and three children into Bangladesh through border pillar 244/MP, it said.

However, a BGB patrol team rushed to the spot after receiving the information and successfully foiled the attempt, it added.

Following the intervention, the nine individuals were left stranded in the no-man's land between the two countries' borders.

Additional BGB personnel have been deployed in the area to maintain security, and surveillance has been strengthened with the help of local residents, the press release added.

Lt Col Md Ariful Islam Masum, commanding officer of Naogaon-16 BGB, said patrols in the area have been increased after the incident.

"No one will be allowed to enter Bangladesh illegally, including these nine individuals," he said, adding that efforts are underway to send them back to India.

India says it is “closely monitoring” Bangladesh’s proposed Teesta River Comprehensive Management & Restoration Project and reported plans to acquire Chinese J-10CE multirole fighter aircraft for the Bangladesh Air Force.

After decades without a breakthrough on the Teesta water-sharing agreement, Dhaka is exploring alternative solutions to secure its water resources while also modernising its defence capabilities.

Like all sovereign nations, Bangladesh retains the right to choose its strategic partnerships and defence procurement pathways — just as regional powers independently make their own security decisions.

A changing regional landscape. A more self-reliant Bangladesh.

What does India want to get out of coercive measures against BD?

BD building dam Inside its border for water management or procuring fighter jets to modernize armed forces does not harm India. It would be a legitimate case if we were harboring anti-India insurgencts like Pakistan allegedly do. But that's not what we are talking here.

I doubt any potential external bullying would stop BD from modernising its defensive capabilities.

Its not bullying. If BD has the right to put its self interests first then India also has its own. I was just responding to chest thumping AI crap poster. The thing Bangladeshis always miss is that india has changed a lot since 2024.Can even connect BJP's recent victory in Bengal to all the anti india shenanigans your so called youth did. Most people in india see Bangladesh in the same light as pakistan.Even allowing visa to Bangladeshi citizens is a massive security threat that indian government is sleeping on.

Pakistan India has territorial dispute and armed conflicts. (Including the recent one.) Neither is true with Bangladesh.

Hence, most of it likely stemming from anti Muslim hatred that your rulling party has been riding on.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) foiled an attempt by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) to install a pillar near the Patgram border in Lalmonirhat on Thursday allegedly violating international border rules, officials said on Friday.

According to BGB sources, members of the force rushed to the spot after receiving information that BSF personnel were trying to install a pillar near international pillar No 806.

BGB members obstructed the work, saying no structure can be built within 150 yards of the border in line with international regulations.

Following the intervention, BSF personnel stopped the work and left the area, the sources said.

Commanding Officer of Rangpur Battalion (51 BGB) Lt Col Naziyur Rahman confirmed the incident.

“There is no scope to install any pillar within 150 yards of the border. BGB immediately prevented the attempt after receiving the information,” he said.

He also said a meeting at the sector commander level was held over the issue and an official protest was lodged.

A tense situation developed between the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and India’s Border Security Force (BSF) over a push-in attempt at the Ramrampur border in Bakshiganj upazila of Jamalpur.

During the incident, BSF personnel attempted to push several individuals into Bangladesh, leaving an elderly man stranded in the no-man’s-land area and triggering a heated exchange between the two border forces.

Lt Col Hasanur Rahman, commanding officer of the Jamalpur 35 BGB Battalion, said an attempt had been made to push an elderly man across the border. He added that the individual was subsequently sent back from the Bangladeshi side of the border.Top of Form

According to eyewitnesses, a BSF member made a remark about opening fire, prompting a strong reaction from BGB personnel. In response, BGB members questioned the statement, saying: “Do you think only you have guns? Don’t we have them too? If you fire, should we just sit quietly?”

The incident occurred around 5am on Wednesday near border pillar 1082 in the Ramrampur border area of Dhanuya Kamalpur union. The push-in attempt ultimately failed due to resistance from BGB personnel and local residents. BSF had allegedly been attempting to force a 60-year-old man into Bangladesh.

Members of BSF’s Nandirchar Camp brought the elderly man to the no-man’s-land area, but personnel from the Jamalpur 35 BGB Battalion blocked the move. Local residents from nearby border communities also gathered at the scene. As a result, the man was left standing in the neutral zone.

As tensions escalated, an emergency flag meeting was held at the border around 10:30am. The meeting was led by an Assistant Director of the 35 BGB Battalion and an Inspector from the Nandirchar BSF Camp. However, no concrete resolution was reached. BSF reportedly refused to accept the man as an Indian citizen and eventually left him in the no-man’s-land area before returning to their position.

During the meeting, arguments between members of the two forces intensified. Witnesses said that after a BSF member referred to firing, BGB personnel strongly objected, questioning why such threats were being made.

Despite several further attempts by BSF personnel to push the man into Bangladeshi territory, they were unsuccessful due to the firm stance taken by BGB and local residents. The incident has created renewed concern among people living in the border area.

India’s Border Security Force (BSF) detained two Bangladeshi farmers while they were engaged in harvesting and threshing of rice along the Bangladesh-India’s Dharmapur border in Birol upazila of Dinajpur on Friday afternoon.

Protesting against the detention, local Bangladeshis handed over two Indian farmers to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) through a local Union Parishad member.

The incidents took place near 320/9 S Pillar at Dharmajain BOP camp’s Mallickpur Karuliapara in Dharmapur Union around 12:15 pm today.

The BGB and BSF members were preparing for the flag meeting while filing this report.
The detained Bangladeshis are - Enamul Haque, 45, from Dharmajain area and Masud Rana, 22, from Bongaon area.

On the other hand, the two Indians have been identified as Abinash Tudu, 20, and Philip Soren, 30. Both are from Anantapur village in India.

Local people said several people including Masud Rana and Enamul Haque harvested rice from their land inside the Bangladesh border near 320/9 S Pillar at Dharmajain BOP camp’s Mallickpur Karuliapara. After harvesting, they were threshing the rice on the land of an Indian citizen near the same pillar. At that time, the BSF members detained the two Bangladeshi farmers.

Knowing the matter, several Bangladeshis from Karuliapara picked up two Indian farmers and handed over to BGB through local UP member Abdur Rahman.

Asked, Dharmajain BOP camp’s Nayek Subedar Rezaul Karim told Prothom Alo, “India’s Border Security Force has detained two Bangladeshis while they were harvesting near the border. Later, local Bangladeshis held two Indians.”

Speaking about the next course of action, he further said, “We’ve already started discussion with India’s Border Security Force. An attempt to settle the issue through a flag meeting has been going on.”

According to the CMP commissioner, embassy officials initially received no response from Narender’s room, prompting them to alert police.
