Ukraine: Presidential aide targeted in assassination attempt​

A top aide to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was shot at in an attempted assassination that left his car's driver wounded, Ukrainian police have said. Russia has denied having a role in the attack.

Serhiy Shefir was not injured in the attack

Multiple shots were fired at a car carrying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's principal aide in a potential assassination attempt on Wednesday.

The driver of the vehicle was seriously wounded in the attack, the country's interior minister said.

More than 10 bullets hit the car near the village of Lesnyky outside the capital city of Kyiv, a police statement said. Authorities have opened a criminal case on suspicion of premeditated murder.

"Unidentified individuals fired about 10 shots from a 7.62 caliber automatic weapon," Ukraine's Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova wrote on Facebook, adding that an investigation was underway for attempted murder.

A lawmaker told Reuters news agency that the aide, Serhiy Shefir, was not hurt. Shefir leads a group of advisers close to the president, who is currently in New York for the UN General Assembly.

Only two suspects:

1. CIA (to accuse Russia and speeding Ukraine to the EU and NATO).

2. Mossad (to convince Ukraine buying more Israeli weapons).

I don't believe Moscow is so stupid to do this. It would be easier and lesser painfull for them to invade East Ukraine than to assassinate Ukrainian president.

However, again a assassinating attempt/coupe d'etat/regime change for a country with superb relations with Turkey.

Last week it was Sudan (after signing massive deals with Ankara), before Sudan it was Afghanistan (when Turkey made a deal to secure the Kabul airport), before it was Algeria (supporting Turkey in Libya), before Algeria it was Lebanon (on the negotiation table to sign a EEZ), then the mass protests in Belarus (after signing gigantic deals between them and Turkey) therefore it was Egypt, Libya etc.
