"Lightning" will significantly expand the capabilities of the Air Force of Ukraine​

CB Pivdenne showed in detail the Blyskavka air-to-surface missile, the preliminary design of which was protected in October 2020.

This missile has a range of 110 km and is designed to destroy ground or surface targets. It is planned to be used to arm Su-24M front-line bombers. And subject to the installation of an additional suspended container on other types of aircraft, primarily - Su-27.

It clearly shows the modular design of the rocket itself, which consists of several compartments. Engine, onboard equipment, warhead and guidance system.

This combination allows you to use GPS only as an additional system, the information from which only "insures" inertial. We will add that the R-360 "Neptune" cruise missile uses a similar combination.

Next is the warhead, and most likely the radio altimeter, which is also needed by the missile to control flight parameters, especially at the end of the flight.

In the rendering "Lightning" is shown with an active homing head based on an active phased array. This allows it to destroy radio contrast targets.

At the same time, it is known about the possibility of equipping it with passive homing heads to defeat the enemy's radar. As well as a homing head with a complex of optical and radar channel, which is planned to be used in OTRK "Peregrine" to destroy ground targets.

The six elements that are installed in the upper part of the rocket remain in question. On the render, they have high-quality detail, but their purpose has not yet been identified.
