yeah guys I did one on pdf but I think I should write about it here too:

I like to grow chilis just for fun and in the end I can eat them 😤

Your avatar means more to me now :) My friend was growing hot pepper in flower pots and he never would never let me touch them. i guess, it is hard to eat them after growing for you. Btw I don't know if you've ever tried it, but the best food for Chili sauce(cholula) is chicken.

I never have seen something of these in germany..

we have Thai sriracha here in germany it tastes good but is not much spicy.. once a time I had tried Pain 95% that was real hot stuff :D

these habanero kind of chilis are no fun like the ones in my avatar they have a special aroma not like standard chili its like a fruity floral aroma but ultra hot.. now I found one kind like the red and green round ones in the first image that has almost this flavor (but not such intense as the red or orange ones in the last picture of that posting) my new kind has less spiciness its a little bit lesser than standard turkish peppers..

for me its all fun I love to grow them up and have many many peppers on them specially when it turns orange, yellow or red I jus tlike to see it and I dont collect them until I have to.. :D its a little bit hard to finish the plants by collecting the fruits (berries)

for these kind of peppers I think turkey specially the meditarranian area would be great.. anatolia all around ankara until sivias is bad because in the night its colder than here in germany in the summer..


I think some day I will just grow this satanic looking peppers: dont think I can eat them its just for fun... also most people on earth cannot eat them.. these are one of the hottest of hottest peppers and they even look like burned because of their own spiciness :D

but for next year I will try to make chili powder I just need a good summer and my family not being against my maniac dreams :D

this year I had more about twenty buckets each with one pepper plant.. if no one would stop me I could easily have twice as much..


it all started around 2004 I had seen my father having some plants and I thought how it is even possible that they grow here in germany..? and than I decided to have my own plants.. I told my older brother about my plans.. but the only thing he said was "I can eat anything you plant!!!!!!!!" as if I want to challange him . than I thought "ok, lets see what the internet has for me" (my intention to grow peppers was not because to harm my brother) and I began to buy some seeds from a german guy on a spanish island near africa.. and I decided to take the ones wich are the hottest in the shop (habanero orange and brown/chocolate)

my first grow was good I got enough peppers to test on my brother.. so I visited him to test the first pepper :)
he again said that he can eat anything I bring up! so he got one of them and he ate it like an apple.. than he sat down and googled something like he is busy.. I was disappointed that it was nothing for him.. my brother stood up and went into the kitchen than my nephew called us, he was laughing and smiling my brother was done.. he ate breat, drank milk, ate yoghurt he even drank honey nothing helped... years later he told me the night on that day was really bad and troublesome :)

since than I am growing peppers

Very nice. I tried growing Carolina Rippers from seeds. They germinated quickly, grew and flowered, but the flowers never turned into fruit. I don't know if there was a pollination problem (there aren't many bees where I live) or if they were just bad seeds.

you dont need bees on peppers they just need a little bit of shaking by wind..

this could have many reasons:
not enough fertilizer or the wrong one the best is like NPK 20 7 24 or lesser phosphor more kalium but lesser nitrogen and than it also needs MG Ca and so on.. Kalium is good for flowering and fruit building.. (you could also use 15 5 18 for excample you just have to be shure that you dont put to much phosphor and nitrogen to the plants)

you should have used 12 L buckets and start in february because it takes almost 3 month from flower to berry

and the worst part is the weather sometimes you have to cold nights some peppers hate it others dont care too much and special ones love it (the ones with black seeds)
if it gets cold in the night it could be that the plant does not grow properly

aloso some peppers are harder to grow because these are really bitchy plants once I had a kind that only had 3 or 5 peppers that means I waited more than 6 month for only this amount of pepers I even "played bee" :D

Possible to grow here but, no Carolina Ripper seeds around here

this year was too cold as you see mine are also mostly green

if you have time and a place for growing you should try Joes Long Cayenne and de Arbol both are good andy have masses of peppers

next year I will try sugar rush peach, rocoto not brown, scotch bonnet orange squash peppers and some I have from this year :)

I will post my plants later too even though I destroyed most of them and will leave just two pots for the winter to see how it goes. They are still flowering and growing new leafs and chillies so maybe they will survive the winter if I keep them somewhere warm?

ps Now I checked them... they won’t survive for much longer. They are on the balcony and it gets cold at night.

yes they could if you dont have insects harming them.. you may have to use some kind of poisen against the insects but be carefull what you buy..

many people are cutting the plants and placing them in a colder (not too cold) and darker room (not too dark) I did this with my capsicum chinense peppers I dont know if they survive but I hope so..

some pepper kinds are good for that treatment like Chinense (some years), pubescens(many years) annuum chilis are not such good to this except some of them like de Arbol

My wife decided to plant a bunch of different stuff, but I ended up looking after them.

Green chili right beside the coctail tomatoes and green beans...

Well they all yielded fruits, the green beans were just unstoppable and the kids started plucking the tomatoes and the green ones too.

The thorny mulberry my wife planted is going to give me a headache at some point...

When you boil eggs, save the water, and even the eggshell and use them in the pot.

@Timur do you make "ACI" with all those chilli :)

we make pickled chilis or we eat them fresh or pan fried at breakfast or we just put them anywhere from mercimek corba , kuru fasülye , nohut, bulgur to anything that can contain chili peppers..

this time (second wave) I did not really allow my wife to pick them all up and further more the peppers are a little bit late so most of them are green and now we do not know what to do

if they would have color changed I would have made chili powder ... I hope next year we will have a super summer and I will get enough red and orange peppers to make chili powder or pul biber of.. (thats my goal )

years ago I had made aci biber salca out of red savina and habanero fransiska (<2kg) in the end I had ~1kg of aci biber salca but that was hell! it was not eatable because it was like concentrated as if habaneros are not enough to deal with.. I waited 2 weeks and it didnt got lesser (we just always used a little bit of it and it was enough)

I endet up giving it away to the local dönerci.. he had no mercy and put it on many döner kebabs for his friends at least we had some fun

the ultra hot ones mostly end up in the fridge so we can use them if needed.. :)

I wish our universities' genetic engineering departments had a project to develop the world's hottest pepper and took the title from America's "Carolina Reaper".

Name the new hottest pepper something political yet humorous like "Ottoman Slap" or something. :ROFLMAO:


if I would have a house in turkey and living there I would try to make a new pepper.. unfortunally our normal people dont want to have things like that.. I took some chili pepper seeds to turkey and gave to my uncle, cousins, father of my wife but really they dont give things a value they did not pay for.. if they would have spend those money in lira and I would do such a thing like saying the chickens eat it or just ignore it and throw it away.. they would be pissed off... just think someone payed 80 lira for seeds and the other one does not even bother because its free..


I tried to give them Capcicum chinense, capsicum pubescens and baccatum.. I really think c. pubescens would grow perfect in anatolia you can use one pepper plant for years if you want to and they like it if it gets a little bit colder in the night and if you live in a high place like you have there in inner anatolia

I hope we have such people in turkey trying new variants it does not have to be the ultra mega 1 million scoville pepper :)

did you ever try any habanero? addding 10 of them into 500gram sweeet pepper would make it really really hot for the most of the people!

these ones are really hot but not the hottest like the reaper, what makes them special is that they have a really tasty aroma if you guys have no problem with hot spicy peppers I recommend to plant them (habanero Orange)

take the worst turkish pepper you can get it will be not as horrible as these ones :D
