The WZ-7 Xianglong, a Chinese reconnaissance drone of high altitude and flight duration, has been deployed in the course of a complete combat training, as announced by the Air Force of the Asian giant through a statement, the Chinese state portal reported on Wednesday Global Times .

The aircraft, nicknamedSoar Dragon ‘(Flying Dragon in Spanish), has been conceived for the border recognition and the maritime patrol long lasting. Analogous to Northrop Grumman’s RQ-4 Global Hawk, this drone has attracted a lot of attention since it made its public debut at Airshow China 2021 held in autumn this year in the coastal city of Zhuhai.

It is reported that in the course of the recent aerial exercise with aircraft of other types, the WZ-7 demonstrated its high altitude and range capabilities. The drone flew over the scheduled reconnaissance positions and collected data on the positioning of its targets.

The WZ-7 sent the data to the command center, providing strong support to the group of planes in the air waiting to carry out penetration and assault tasks, Chinese state television reported.

its 25 meter wingspan and its 14 meters long, make the WZ-a large unmanned aerial vehicle.

Although previous information indicated that the drone had already been observed operating from air bases near the border between China and India, in the Tibet area, this is the first time that the Chinese Army has highlighted its observation capacity on a battlefield. .

The WZ-7 (Chinese: 无侦-7) , also known as Soar Dragon (Chinese: 翔龙), is an unmanned aerial vehicle of the High-Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) type, featuring an unusual joined, tandem wingplan. As of 2011 it is being developed by the People's Republic of China for reconnaissance and maritime patrol missions.

PLA Air Force's unmanned combat system, the domestically developed WZ-7 high-altitude reconnaissance drone has caught much attention since it made its debut at the Airshow China this year.

The drone has been deployed for full combat training, the PLA Air Force announced on Wednesday, the eve of its 72nd anniversary. As a new type of unmanned combat equipment, the WZ-7 has been deeply integrated into the PLA Air Force's real combat-scenario training system, fully demonstrating that the PLA Air Force has made significant progress in applying advanced combat means and showing the acceleration in the improvement of combat capabilities of the system.

During the opening ceremony of this year's Airshow China on September 28, the drone attracted attention worldwide. The WZ-7 uses the "Φ type" tandem-wing aerodynamic configuration, the first time in the world that such design has been used in an aircraft. It has been tested in all kinds of environments and its reliability has been proven.

It is "the second drone that can freely cross civil aviation routes," the state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China, the aircraft's manufacturer said in a statement sent to the Global Times at the Airshow China 2021. During the recent exercise, the drone demonstrated its full advantages of high-altitude and long-endurance. The aircraft quickly planned reconnaissance positions, set reconnaissance courses and captured target tracks based on dynamic battlefield situations.

The drone is fully integrated into Chinese Air Force real combat-scenario system and well equipped to upload all kinds of data to the command center, providing strong support for the airborne aircraft group waiting to carry out penetration and assault tasks.

The fresh addition of next generation drone into Chinese Air Force will give boost to combat capabilities of China. In recent years, China has given many surprises to the world by demonstrating its advancements in the military and space technology through the introduction of twin engine J-20 stealth fighter jet with domestic engines,Y-20 transport aircraft, KJ-500 early warning aircraft, H-6K bomber, CH-6 drone, J-16D electronic warfare aircraft, HQ-9B air defense missile system, Long March Heavy Rockets, near completion

Tiangong Space Station and successful conduct of Hypersonic Glide Vehicle Test in July which circled the earth without detection by the US Air Early Warning Systems. It seems very difficult for US lead western powers to match the speed of China.
