Now we're talking about Turkey instead of Cyprus and Turkish Cypriots. Shift that discussion from the misery of Turkish Cypriots to how they're not really Cypriots and just Turks. Whataboutisms and shifting discussions.

But he kicked the Greeks out. Thats a win in my books.
But he did it by lying to Turks and the Greeks of Istanbul didn't really do anything at that point...

Also, he's directly responsible for rolling back a lot of the progress Turkey made, like closing down village institutes.

Village institues are stupid. Villagers should be doing agriculture and husbandry not wasting their time with music lessons.

Greeks of istanbul welcomed the allied invasion of our capital. So Ataturk not kicking them out was a dumb mistake he did which menderes fixed.

Greeks of istanbul was a future pkk problem mark my words.

I...just...what...*facepalm*

Nein, you're a good dude and all but did you just seriously suggest that citizens of Turkey should not be getting an advanced education and stick to milking cows?

Friend, you will ALWAYS find people who want to do farming. That's what education is for, to help them do it even better.

Agriculture is a back bone that is passed generation to generation. I dont mean people stay uneducated.

But university is not the go to everything.

How do you think innovations in agriculture came along? Educated people invested in agriculture invested in developments to make it easier and more productive. You won't get that if you knock down educational institutions that give kids something more than their ana and ata can tell them.

And what if a kid doesn't have the aptitude to be a farmer? What if they could be a brilliant mathematician but they didn't get the opportunity because their parents don't know anything more than basic addition and subtraction, they don't have money to send them to the bigger cities and there are no schools in the villages tailored towards expanding their knowledge?

Do you think a nation does not require educated citizens? What kind of insanity is this?

Turkey farming is incresibly inefficient, what one farmer in developed countries produces takes several farmers in Turkey. Add to that the the products are barely profitable too but yeah lets stop educating people because we are not in a globalized, competitive world...

Just a remark: After the September 1955 Constantinople Pogrom, EOKA started its activity against Turkish Cypriots.

Don't made up history.. EOKA founded before pogrom and Enosis is as old as Greek Independence, their activities started after WWI and they always planned to get whole island and remove any obstacle (Turks) . In fact Cyprus was an excuse to attack Greeks in Turkey (which was as shameful as what Greek Cypriots done to my people.) In all these issues only reality is none of the sides are innocent.

I did not say that EOKA was founded after the pogrom, but that it also started hitting Turkish targets after that. Prior to the pogrom, the targets were British and British collaborators, even Greeks (such as police officers).
The rest are as I described them, after all, facts remain facts, even if the other side (eg .the Turkish Cypriot) wants to hide them under the rug.
