Qatar and Albania will become the first countries to buy Turkey’s IHAMAX anti-drone systems.

Qatar, Albania First Customers for Turkish IHAMAX Anti-Drone System

IHAMAX anti-drone system (via Turkish media)

Qatar and Albania will become the first countries to buy Turkey’s IHAMAX anti-drone systems.
Produced by National War Technologies Defense Systems Inc., the systems target drones carrying drugs, bombs and other weapons, especially in crowded areas where using armed weapons could be dangerous.

Bekir Yalçın, research and development (R&D) coordinator of the firm, told Anadolu Agency (AA) Wednesday that the company was producing jammers and started to manufacture anti-drone systems in line with the demands of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK).

The 3-4kg portable device provides linear and circular protection. Circular protection particularly allows effective solutions against herd drone threats. IHAMAX is effective up to 2km away, depending on the geographical conditions and its connection with the command center.

Roketsan chief says Tunisia interested in guided bombs for UAVs

Ismail Demir, a top government official in charge of the defense industry, told Nikkei Asia, "I do not know any other country which is more generous than Turkey, especially in terms of technology transfer." He also said Turkish drone makers are talking to at least seven countries about drone exports.

Turkish companies see Asia as a potential market.

Turkish Aerospace CEO Temel Kotil told Nikkei, "In Asia, we especially see Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines as strategic markets."

I dont understand why we are so generous with TOT. If those countries get TOT, they dont need our drones anymore.
The purpose of ToT is to drive more sales.

It sounds weird, but this is how it works:

Let's say Pakistan buys Anka-S UAVs with ToT for locally manufacturing the drone.

Well, Pakistan will rarely spend the money to manufacture weapons 100%. So, if anything, it would be a co-production agreement with Turkey. Basically, Turkey will supply 50%+ of the parts, always.

Now to absorb ToT, Pakistan would have to spend extra money on the facilities, supply chain, and other inputs to locally manufacture its share.

But the ToT part is expensive for Pakistan, so it will not stop at ordering one batch of Anka-S. In the future, it will order more Anka-S. In fact, moving forward, Anka-S would always take priority in future MALE UAV purchases. In turn, Turkey will keep supplying 50%+ of the parts.

For Turkey, the key is to make its 50%+ parts make up 75%+ of the value. So, it should control the supply of the engine, electronics, flight control system, etc. Pakistan (or any other customer) could focus on only the wings, fuselage and other aerostructures. Doing so frees up the Turkish supplier base to focus on domestic UAV orders (hence keeping costs low for everyone).

The first tests were carried out in March 2020, at the training ground in the Karaganda region, with practical shots day and night on a 6 km route with a snow cover 30-65 cm deep, where the practical firing was conducted during day and night.
The Working group of the Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan affirmed the compliance of the presented armored wheeled vehicle with the declared characteristics.

Kazakhstan’s wheeled ACV supply

Kazakhstan has been testing different vehicles for the supply of tactical wheeled armored combat vehicles for a long time. One of the first vehicles Kazakhstan’s tested for the ACV was the Mbombe 8×8 vehicle of Paramount Group, partnered for local production in the country. Different weapon systems ranging from 30mm to 57mm were integrated into the vehicle for Kazakhstan.
One of the weapon systems integrated into the vehicle was the ASELSAN, which was again produced in the country with a local partnership.

If i am not wrong, the only sector that is massively flourishing in Turkey is the defence sector. This could get us out of the recession.

If by that you mean all related subcomponents and such, perhaps.

But production in itself will benefit our society much more. Self sufficiency in food, health (medicine too) is very important.

Why should we buy medicine from abroad. Just prioritize domestic pharmaceutical companies for delivery to public institution.

Produce medicine like Teva does. (IP expired medicine).

Also please, construction materials must be from Turkey to all our damn projects even those abroad.

Self sufficient is the best thing a country could get. But we are telling this for years now, i still dont understand what our ministers are doing.

I live in the Netherlands and 80% of the medicines here are foreign. In coronatime a lot of drugstores didnt have medicines because of transport problems worldwide.

Now the Netherlands declared they would produce their own medicines (even our paracetamol is produced in China) but it wouldnt be easy because of the high salaries and wages domestically produced medicines will get expensive.

If a technical almost superiour Dutch industry couldnt produce their own medicines, how could Turkey do it?

We can, and so can Netherlands. Problem is that they probably shut down or sold off the factory.

Denmark's Institution for Serum and medicine sold of the factory in Denmark producing medicine to Saudi Arabia... When Corona came this became a toxic issue.

Robots can do many things and if you can automate entire production you can at least have some domestic production to always have a card in your backhand.

China had like 80% if not more of the world mask production still what little we had 10 mio. masks a week was enough to alleviate some domestic concerns.

Even China came to buy all our masks during Corona.

We need to automate many factory processes, and have ppl get vocational education to service these machines.

You said it yourself; cost of workmanship is lower in Turkey, like a quarter to a third of the level in the western Europe calculating from the GDP numbers. And as Turkey is a transportation hub for air transportation which medicinal raw materials are transported it has another advantage. Istanbul with its potential to grow further with all its accesibility and super infrastructure can handle any endeavor. Neighboring Kocaeli is of course an extension of Istanbul and a biomedical industrial zone is already being set up around Gebze.

I hope you can still read it.

Ideally, you'd expect Turkey to be somewhere around the 12th-18th rank. I can't see how Turkey would surpass other countries higher in the ranking with its current population and circumstances.

Indonesia, with its much bigger population, could hope to reach the 4th rank but that would probably take another 20 or 30 years if every thing works out.

Ironic to see that Iran stands so low. With the amount of propaganda their ministers and rulers churn about indigenous production, you would expect them to produce a little more than that pitiful amount.

Tiny Israel, as expected, remains a tiny, insignificant force on its own. Only with outside assistance from a much greater power can it retain its geopolitical standing in the region.

TBH as long as the government isn't transparent and accountable. They're able to sell off, shut down and kill production.

An example of this could be the Aluminum Factory in Seydisehir in Turkey that was sold off with money in the bank and everything in the company, but we don't know for how much and what happened to it.

Only thing I know is that court ruled the selling illegal and state should reacquire it, but government didn't to anything and just gave up on their claim. I posted about this in a seperate thread in more details.

This list shows Turkey in the 16th position and overtaking Canada, Spain and Brazil to get to 13th position should be easy. After which another jump can take Turkey to the 10th position after the UK. This can happen in the next 10 years.
