Our company, Machine and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE), has signed a contract for the establishment of a 155 mm Long Range Artillery Ammunition Factory and Cartridge Production Facilities in Egypt. Our company has also exported the MKE TOLGA Short Range Air Defense System to Egypt.

Will probably be produced under the name "Zabzoob" or "Baghlool" like the way they named the Karayel "Haboob" and put a Saudi sticker on it.

Yup, Romanians asked for near impossible timelines, Otokar bit the bullet to undercut other 7 or so rivals. I think it was a calculated gamble on their end and they accepted the possible penalties. 860 million tender, 40 million fine.
Otokar General Manager Özüner (Regarding the Approximately 4 Billion Lira Penalty Arising from the Romanian Tender):

▪️ “We anticipated potential payment demands (penalties) from the user.”

▪️ “We shared with the public that delays and disputes could lead to additional payment demands.”

▪️ “As of today, we have no further delays or obligations regarding production preparations.”

Another significant agreement between Turkey and Brazil in the field of defense industry has been approved by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. The defense industry cooperation agreement aims to meet Brazil's defense industry product needs through the Turkish defense industry and to develop defense industry cooperation for the benefit of both countries.

The agreement regulates matters related to joint production and technology transfer, mutual procurement of defense industry products, the sale of jointly produced products to third countries, and the provision of market opportunities for Turkish defense industry products. Last year, Türkiye also made its first export of jet engines to Brazil.

Deputy Foreign Minister Mehmet Kemal Bozay, while briefing members of parliament on the agreement with Brazil, reminded them that Brazil is the country that spends the most on the defense industry in the Latin America and Caribbean region, with a budget of $25 billion. Bozay stated, “Our relations with Brazil in the defense industry have gained momentum. We are focusing on expanding our cooperation beyond the purchase and sale of weapons, ammunition, and non-lethal materials, and developing joint projects and technologies. Currently, TUSAŞ has signed memoranda of understanding with Brazil-based Akaer Engenharia and Embraer. We are working on establishing a joint aircraft production platform with TUSAŞ and Embraer. Furthermore, we are holding discussions with the same company oregarding the joint production of TUSAŞ's AKSUNGUR and ANKA series UAVs, taking into account Brazilian needs. There are also connections regarding jet engines. On the other hand, ROKETSAN and Baykar are holding discussions with Brazilian companies regarding the sale of defense industry products.”

Akaer was instrumental in airframe design of the latest Gripen E &F fighter Jets. They were also involved in the design of Hurjet’s airframe.

Embtaer is a well known and established commercial and military transport aircraft manufacturer.

It would be interesting to know what degree of cooperation is envisaged in jet engine manufacturing.

I wonder if the Brazilian deal will have any implications for a cargo plane work. There seems to be no word specific to it but a joint aircraft production platform can encompass anything your want. C-390 being a potent plane can satisfy the needs of many customers but it is probably not a perfect match for the needs of Türkiye. Türkiye does not want to be merely a customer to any defence product for one. Secondly the capacity of the plane is probably not enough to carry some of our defence products export transportation and power projection needs overall.

As I understand it, there's no new deal signed and the deal committee talked about last week is from 2022.
Turkey-Brazil
Defense Industry Cooperation Agreement was signed simultaneously in Ankara and Brazil via video conference on March 25, 2022.
The domestic legal approval process for the agreement in Brazil has been completed, and the approval process in our country is ongoing. https://www.tbmm.gov.tr/Tutanaklar/TutanakGoster/5386
Everything listed here is past deals. Production of E-jets in Turkey, Roketsan relationship, jet engines being KTJ-3200 for MANSUP-ER etc. There's no new deal regarding a joint production.

As Turkey strengthens its domestic and national air defense projects, it is preparing to resume negotiations with Italy for the SAMP-T system, which is seen as a critical interim solution. Ankara is discussing air defense procurement, technology transfer, joint production, and increasing the rate of domestic contribution with Italy.

The increasing missile and air threat in the Middle East has accelerated Turkey's efforts to strengthen its air defense architecture. Until the Steel Dome, dubbed the "system of systems," is fully operational, Ankara is working on interim solutions.

Within this context, it is being discussed that negotiations with Italy regarding the SAMP-T project will resume. The project, which was suspended in the past for various reasons, will be brought back to the table. Based on past experiences, Turkey prioritizes collaborations that strengthen national capacity rather than models that increase external dependence.

Ankara's primary priority is to close the air defense gap in the short term, while in the long term, it aims to establish an independent defense infrastructure with entirely domestically produced systems. In this context, in addition to the procurement of SAMP-T air defense systems, Ankara will also consider technology transfer, joint production, and increasing the rate of domestic contribution.

As well as being an interim solution to bridge the gap before our Siper 3 and more are ready to be employed, it may well serve as a TOT for Pif-Paf system you need to have precision hit on ballistic missiles.

Little hope for Samp-T. The only thing we need really is the TOT for the pif paf system and i don't think the french are ready for that.
Would rather buy 2-4 pac 3mse for the time being until Siper block 3 becomes fully operational (2030-...)
