We will not be getting IRIS-T, SAMP-T, PATRIOT PAC 2/3, David Sling, THAAD or Arrow 2/3, or any other Western air defence system. That ship has sailed, so we shouldn’t waste any more energy on it. In every one of these systems, there is a country with which we have issues, or countries exerting influence to ensure we don’t get it.

Either we activate the S-400 and integrate it into our own air defence system – that is, into the network via an intermediate software and hardware layer – or we wait for Siper 3.

There is no other option; in my view, we should secretly replicate the S-400 through reverse engineering. If war breaks out, we will need a second system capable of intercepting SRBMs, MRBMs and IRBMs.

these news pieces could well be related the ratification of the basic outlines agreed on few years ago and matured during the course of time.

Europe is slowly realising that it needs Türkiye for its security more than ever, especially when their greatest allies, the US and Israel are acting out like psychopathic hoodlums disregarding diplomacy protocols and etiquette and seeing themselves above international law, after Europe taking a harsh stance against Russia only to have the US and Israel doing the same or worse.
Macron, Spain, Italy and a few other Euro countries have made clear and strong statements lately against the US attacking Iran on behalf of Israel without congress approval, undermining NATO and the UN.
Even Germany retracted its participation in the genocide case defending Israel.
The Eurofighter deal got through despite Germany's initial stance and we have great relations with Spain and Italy alongside the UK.
France is waking up too.

It doesn’t matter; secretly they applaud it, but since they have to present themselves as upholding certain values to the outside world, they officially criticise it.
Why do I know this? ... There are no sanctions against the US or Israel on the same scale as those imposed on Russia, which is doing the same thing to Ukraine.

In other words, perception, what is said, and the reactions to it are two or three different things.

Perhaps I’m being too sceptical, but to me it’s all just a show, and of course they don’t want to be dragged into a war – that much is clear.

We, Turkey, are the direct rivals of France, Germany, Israel and Greece/Cyprus in the 21st century.
Where do you think the French and German/Israel pressure on Turkish domestic and foreign policy has come from since 2014/2015? Not a day went by in the German, French and Israel/Greek media without Turkey being criticised as unreliable, destabilising and aggressive – and that for more than 7–8 years. The Turkish population has been asked the loyalty question on several occasions, as if they were infiltrators in their respective countries; not even the Chinese, Russians or Arabs have experienced this to such an extent in Europe.
Public opinion and politics have been jointly steered over several years towards a much, much tougher stance on Turkey.
You only do something like that if you intend to actually go to war later; for that, you need consensus among politicians and the public. To achieve this, you have to create an enemy image and portray the Turkish population as aggressive and as victims of their religious intransigence and incompatibility with the West; this isn’t just for today, but is part of a multi-year agenda.
There is no room for further interpretation; the arming of Cyprus and the islands by Israel, France and Greeks speaks for itself.
