Remember when government forced banks to lend money disregarding proper evaluation of each persons chance of paying it back. Pure consumer, debt driven lifestyle has been promoted with government blessing, which lead to RTE begging Yildirim to come back.

Rutte said tens of billions worth of new contracts will be announced tomorrow. Do you think we need a thread for the summit? It's kind of a defence fair.

Some of these agreements will be about supporting Ukraine. But I agree, though. We could have had a separate thread about the NATO summit.

Majority of USD spent will be spent by countries on other countries. But surely we'll hear some big ones for us as well.

Will this 1.5B$ deal for 30 helicopters be revived as US lifts sanctions on Turkiye?

pakistan already bought chinese made attack helicopters so overall need should be met. Maybe they are not satisfied with the performance.

still unlikely that they would lift the engine export control maybe with the domestic TS1400 but currently there are no plans to integrate it

I am pretty sure since J10CE's battle success, they are more than satisfied with the performance of Chinese origin systems.

It's just that, TUSAS offered very lucrative offset deal but with the Chinese, it is either buy it or leave it.

Also, since the original initiative to procure 30 ATAK, a lot has been learned in lessons from various conflicts around the globe. Which is changing some of the requirements for army aviation in general.

Only 6 delivered according to my info. Would prefer the T-129

More like 1 or 2 no? If you listen to Quwa, PA still experimenting with how their next gen rotary wing combat aviation should look like. Apparently no commitment has been made to procurement of any platform in large numbers. T129 still has some chance provided US allow engine export. However, new requirements will very likely to be added. That would necessitate new pricing negotiation over originally quoted $1.5 billions.
